Why don't people drink at home instead of going to bars and then endangering others by driving home drunk?

Because alcohol abusers tend to be self-centered and blind to their own problems. Trying a few drunk drivers for attempted PREMEDITATED murder could make some think. Why don't people drink at home instead of going to bars and then endangering others by driving home drunk?
Hard to pick up strange chicks at home.
Because when people drink they think EvERYONE wants to be around them. Heres a better question... why doesnt the government outlaw booze alltogether like they did marajuanna? Ask any cop who they would rather arrest...a drunk or someone stoned? Drunk driving kills more people than cancer each year but you dont see any cures for that horriable disease do you? but we have dick pills for the less endowed... america sure does have it priorities messed up huh?Why don't people drink at home instead of going to bars and then endangering others by driving home drunk?
Who wants to drink at home? Wife, kids hanging around? No thanks.

I never said I drive drunk, just that it's no fun to drink at home.
Its illegal to drink and drive but we have drive through liquor stores. Also think about this, when you are eating at a restaurant, and a man and woman are eating together, THEY BOTH ARE DRINKING with their meal, but the server serves them both alcohol who drives home sober? Why don't people drink at home instead of going to bars and then endangering others by driving home drunk?
People who drink are stupid and don't think about the welfare of others. They are silly and selfish
we have a bus that shuttles drunk people around it only costs us $15 for the first 8 miles.
If they go in %26amp; drink in Public Places, then they can call themselves "Social Drinkers" instead of "Alcoholics"! For years, the phamphlets from groups such as AA (Alcoholics Anonymous), have outlined how to identify if a person is an Alcoholic %26amp; needs help by asking a range of questions. One of those questions is, "Do you drink alone?" Many people feel that if they drink alone, then they are automatically labeled as an "Alcoholic"! So, not wanting to be labeled (or admit to having a problem), they go out in public %26amp; think they are ok until they are arrested for DUI. Many people seem to be in DENIAL or just don't care until it happens to them! Alcohol effects a persons thinking %26amp; reasoning skills. Add to that a stubborn person who refuses to admit that a little drink can't %26amp; won't change their lives, %26amp; you have your answer!
I don't think that sitting at a bar, drinking makes you more dangerous on the road then someone who sits at home and drinks, and then choose to leave for whatever reason. It's actually not where you are that makes this dangerous, it's the damn alcohol, straight and simple. But to answer your question, the main reason people go to bars is to socialize, not necessarily to drink.

Any ideas out there on converting a home bar (closet) into a desk/computer claset?

we have an 1982 home that has a bar in the great room. we recently had water damage and need to rebuild the space. We would like to make it into a desk area for our computer. Any ideas or reference materials?Any ideas out there on converting a home bar (closet) into a desk/computer claset?
I had a closet in the downstairs bed room that I turned into my computer area. I bought a 6 foot piece of counter top cut 2 holes in the back for the cables and wires to keep the top clean.

hung some shelves on the wall for peripherals and disks and books . I hung bi-fold doors so that its safe and private if some one is in the spare bedroomAny ideas out there on converting a home bar (closet) into a desk/computer claset?
I did this at my last apartment... used an old solid wood door as the desktop. Used file cabinets to hold it up. What really made it nice was i went to home depot and got charcoal grey indoor/outdoor carpet which i used to cover the walls and the desktop. I used a big square of plexiglass on top of that and my optical mouse worked great on it. Then i bought 1x3 boards to hang shelves the length of the closet... used small L shaped brackets with the bottoms hidden behing the carpet (by making a small horizontal slit and sliding them). It all looked very nice and the shelve seemed to be floating. I put the speakers on the shelves as well as the wireless transmitter thingies and hid usb cords and speaker wires behind the carpet. Kept everything nice and neat. I also had my webcam on the shelf with the cord hidden. Remember not to set your computer directly on carpet though or will cause static. I have a huge oak dining room table with four leaves and i actually used one of the leaves along the back the desktop to set the puter and stuff on. You can buy the hardware to mount the kb under the desktop to give you more room on the desk. If the closet is not wide enough for file cabinets you can use a dresser if its not too deep to set the desk top on. That gives you a place to store your stuff and also can hide all the cords and stuff behind it. (Just be sure you still have leg room!) The carpeting on the walls made it look really nice without that "closet" look.. and is easy to pin things to so you wont need a bulletin board! Good luck!

Married man picking up women at bars and dancing with them and taking them home/hotel?

Do women prefer to know you are married or should the ring come off? I have had success joking about the truth and the opposite way too.

Do ladies want to know and find it attractive or the opposite?Married man picking up women at bars and dancing with them and taking them home/hotel?
Everyone is different, some will care and some won't. If you're just looking for fun, I'd leave it off.
Okay... so here is the thing, I know the last thing you want is to be lectured and I'm not her to judge you at all, but I can't resist simply on account of your wife and partly the women your sleeping with... please just read it and take it into consideration, but I'll answer your question, too ( I actually have no clue why, but I am)....

First of all, I am sure you know that what you are doing is absolutely, irrevocably wrong! But I need you to think about something for me, Do you love your wife anymore? Because if you don't then please save your wife SOME heartbreak because it is bad enough that you are cheating on her. ( For a woman, that is faithful to her partner, it is a lot tougher than a man. This is simply because they pour their heart and souls into their partner, and sure, it still hurts them to get a divorce paper and a pen in their hands, but it hurts them a lot less than to find out the man that they love with all their heart doesn't love them back.... It is a really hard concept to understand unless you have been through it because it is under a whole different category of pain. It is worse for a woman then when someone dies, becuase they feel unwanted and used, like a bag of trash. So, if you love her, why don't you just sleep with her, because she is the woman you love, and it may seem like there is something about sleeping around and sneaking, but not getting caught that gives you almost a high, but it is not going to do you any good later on( i know, you don't care at all if it does you any good, because it's doing you plenty of good right now) I know it is hard for you, as it is hard for some people, but just try and think of the things that could happen, how you're life could fall apart and you'll be left as an empty hole of a heart who has no good friends who he can count on, has no loving arms to come home to, and ( even though he is doing the same thing to those girls now) can't stop himself from wanting to feel something more when all these woman walk out of the hotel room. And what if I have absolutely no more feelings for my wife, you ask? Well, then what id the point of pretending to love her, what is the point of living a lie. Please just get a divorce so she can find a real man who really cares about her and worships her, who doesn't see anything but her. Don't you want to feel that way about a woman, maybe your wife is not that person, but I know you can find her... and please remember, I don't know you, but if you are reading this and are even feel the slightest bit sorry or you want to find someone you really love, then I am going to tell you this, you ARE better than sleeping around. You can be more than that, that is not who you are unless you make yourself that and it is never to late to redeem yourself.

ALL RIGHT... HERE IS THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION... NOOO!!! don't lie... ever, Im a girl and I would want to know whether you were married or not. I would be so upset with you lied to me and you would never have a chance with me, One: because you lied and two: because you are married. Sure, you may be able to fund some girls who will still do it when you are married, but being single is the only way most of them would, that and being respectful of them and NOT EVER LYING!! I really hope you take what I said into consideration, please don't be that lonely old guy that is classified by sleeping around. Find someone who can let you be you. Or better yet, open up and find the girl in your wife that you fell in love with, because I can guarantee you she is still there... GOOD LUCK!Married man picking up women at bars and dancing with them and taking them home/hotel?

How can I get real sports bar decorations for my home bar?

How can I get real decorations from beer/liquor companies like they have in sports bars for my own bar? I have gotten some thing in the past from eBay, but I want new/current tings, especially with regards to sports teams.

How can I get Anheuser-Busch, Moslon/Coors, Diageo, etc. to give me the cataloges that sports bars get so I can decl out my new apartment?

Links to direct sites are, of course, appreciated.

Thanks, all!How can I get real sports bar decorations for my home bar?
Most bars get this stuff for free from the various liquor vendors. I got most of mine from asking my favorite bar owner to ask the vendors for a particular piece. Sometimes I pay, but most of the time the stuff is free.
Budshop.com. Or go to Budweiser.com and follow the obvious icons. Miller Brewing has a good online store as well. When you go to Budshop, click on the clearance merchandise for some really cool deals. If you call them on the phone and order enough, you can talk them into picking up the shipping and they will also tell you about stuff that is not in the catalog. I spent about 1000.00 at budshop last year. I have a bar at home and tons of Bud clothes. Spencers gifts has tons of advertising media, but Budshop is much better. It's a fun life. How can I get real sports bar decorations for my home bar?
Actualy sign you have seen in bars will be hard to come by except for maybe on e-bay. the beer and liquor distributors place these in for marketing and advertising. Those signs are usually trademarked for design, logo, or motto... there are some online stores (usually neon sign companies) that offer near replica's. Try link below, they have a failry good variety of mirrors, neon signs, and other paraphanalia.. Hope this helps...

Are you looking specifically beer related? Or since you mentioned sports, are you open to framed photos?

I've posted a few links where you can get some things that might help.

Everything Neon sells neon signs and neon framed pictures. If you find anything you like on the site, let me know, and I can actually get it cheaper for you, as I have a wholesale account set up with them and I can pass those savings on to you.

EyeOnTheBall Images has some framed sports photos, including some neon framed nascar photos, some of which have Bud Racing on them. Just some thoughts.

  • Any pointers on designing a home bar?

I'm getting a home bar built (would be predominantly wood), and am looking to find tips on layout, and materials, finishes.Any pointers on designing a home bar?
as a contractor i have seen bars made of all types of wood and it is really a personal preference as to what you want, I like alder it looks good and is very durable, granite for the bartop is the best for looks and maintenance, most bars are built straight but if you have the space and money consider a curved bar as it adds a little more style and it allows for greater seating capacity at the bar...for the finish a couple coats of varnish will suffice unless you have a wooden bar top where people will be putting drinks, their elbows etc. then use 3 coats of spar varnish on the top. Also give some thought to the shelving behind the bar where the bottles of booze will be stored, glass wall mounted shelves look the best and are most practical to use, dont forget about the foot rail so people sitting at the bar will have a place to put their feet. good luckAny pointers on designing a home bar?
stock it well ;)Any pointers on designing a home bar?
make sure you leave provisions for a good sized fridge....a granite bench top is hardy and easy to keep clean....and lighting under the lip of the bar always looks good.....cheers

What's your viewpoint on married men picking up women at bars and dancing with them and taking them home?

Do ladies want to know and find it attractive or the opposite? What's your viewpoint on married men picking up women at bars and dancing with them and taking them home?
Married men who pick up skanks are scum. The kind of woman who would go home with someone they just met do not care whether the scumbag is married or not. What's your viewpoint on married men picking up women at bars and dancing with them and taking them home?
    That Is Disgusting.

Married men married their spouse for a reason. they should not, repeat NOT pick up any other woman at a bar, Let alone take them home.

Yes, we do want to know if you are married. We don't want to be home wreckers and it's extremely unattractive and slimy. What's your viewpoint on married men picking up women at bars and dancing with them and taking them home?
That's terrible. If you have a problem in your marriage consult your wife don't cheat on her. If I were in a bar and a married man hit on me I would walk away...
    I loathe infidelity altogether.

How do I serve beer in my home bar?

I have a home bar and have - hand pull beer engine, under bar cooler, gas regulator, freeflow font, co2 cylinder, keg couplers and pipework. Can I pull a traditional beer (cask) through my cooler using my beer engine? Do I have to have the barrel horizontal or can I pull beer with a spikey thing vertically - if I can what about the hard and soft pegs?

Now onto keg beer - what pressure should I set my regulator to , to pull a lager through the freeflow font/

A ny other tips would be greatHow do I serve beer in my home bar?
You could theoretically use a cask with your tapping system.

The problem is you have to make an air tight seal with the barrel. You might try placing a large cork with a couple of holes in it (one for a dip tube and one for the co2 line) in the bung hole with the keg lying on it's side.

You will have to come up with some kind of band clamp to hold in the cork due to the pressure in the barrel.

    7 psi serving pressure

If you are making home brew, set the regulator at 30 psi and shake the keg for 10 minutes to force carbonate the beer then reduce to serving pressure.
I don't know because I'm not very technically knowledgable about how it gets to taste like it does, but if anyone knows, it will definitely be these guys:-

    quicker in the long run

You will probably want some sort of cask breather system rather than hard/soft pegs for a home system unless you can be sure of drinking the entire cask in 2 or 3 days.

It is probably worth you getting the Camra book on Cellarmanship.

If I am building a home bar in my basement, should I use pressure treated wood?

and if anyone has any plans for a home bar that would be awesome too. Thanks! If I am building a home bar in my basement, should I use pressure treated wood?
How are you going to affix to the floor? do not nail or drill any timber members in to the floor or walls if you basement has been tanked otherwise you will have a very large problem whent the water table is high and void any warranty for tanking works.

Why not buy a ready made free-standing bar off ebay.

If you are using the basement in such a way you also need to consider ventilation.

Also slamma you are right about the arsenic but it can only be released if he plans on burning. Just wash you hands after use and always use appropriate PPEIf I am building a home bar in my basement, should I use pressure treated wood?
Depends... How damp is your basement? How sloppy drunk do you get?

If your basement gets flooded a lot then it may be a good idea.

If your such a sloppy drunk that your always spilling booze then it may help protect the wood.If I am building a home bar in my basement, should I use pressure treated wood?
No. Pressure treated wood is for areas exposed to moisture. Hopefully your basement is dry.
i wouldn't bc arsenic is used in the treatment and I could NOT bring a deadly poison where my loved ones and critters are. Kiln dried should do it.

Most bars have mirrors on the back wall %26amp; lights on the front lip of the shelf, which highlights the label and reflects the light back out from behind the bottle.

If you just have a single shelf, do the mirror behind and get some directed lights for above to point at the bottles. You'll still want to get some levels, even one low shelf will help lift the bottles up and show them off better. What is the best way to display my liquor bottles in my home bar?
A shelf and some neutral colored string lights, maybe a mirror behind the shelf should look nice.
a lot of places sell shelves that have lights built into the glass so the bottles light up.... also LABEL OUT!!!

Enjoy, and drink with responsibility! What are the best brands of alcohol to have when stocking your home bar?
alright this is a packed question, so here it goes

it depends on what the two of you like and what your friends like (cause you'll have a lot of them after you set up a bar). I am a absinthe and whiskey man, and drink good stuff straight, so keep that in mind when looking at my suggestions.

whiskey: knob creek (an especialy smooth whiskey with hints of cherry), jameson, george dickle white lable, highland, Prichard's single malt (this is the best one, simply great, it comes from a small distilery in TN).

tequila: always have patron, and jose cueveo

vodka: smernoff, grey goose, and absolute are all great straight or mixed

rum: prichard's rum is good, captian morgan is decent (I don't really know about rum)

Absinthe: (this is a must in any collection) buy some from the czech republic or france, 'innocent' is good brand. a good brand sold in the us is 'absinthe refined'.What are the best brands of alcohol to have when stocking your home bar?
    vodka- smirnoff

    tequila-patron

    rum-bacardi

    whickey-jack or johnnie walker

    gin- bombay sapphire

also buy a bunch of schnapps bottles... sour apple raspberry and other fruit flavors.....

What is the best site to buy high end home bar supplies?

I've been looking for some quality equipment for my home bar, specifically stainless steel cocktail skewers in the shape of a toothpick that I saw in a drink online recently. What is the best site to buy high end home bar supplies?
To be honest, try getting it locally first = shipping can get expencive on such items.

If you saw these skewers at a local bar ask the owner where they get their supplies.

What liquors or liqueurs should I buy first for my new home bar?

I am trying to stock my bar at home and can't decide what all I need. I have the basics like triple sec, vodka, a couple schnapps and everything else you need to have a basic start, but I want a more upscale start. Not too pricey, but some good liqours with a good name between $20-$100 that can be used in a lot of bar recipes. What liquors or liqueurs should I buy first for my new home bar?
Putting together a home bar can be a fun and challenging task. What to stock? What to keep off your list? Do you have to have every conceivable bottle of spirit available?

Your liquor stock really depends on what you plan to serve. Assuming that you will want to make the most common cocktails, this is a basic list. The liquor store would love to see you coming if

you were to completely stock your bar. I suggest that you start with some basics and add to your stock as you experiment with different drinks. Check the recipe collection for drinks you might want to make for additional selections. Brands are your choice and they depend on your taste and budget.

Stocking mixers is like stocking your alcohol. It really depends on what you plan to serve.

The list below will prepare you for most any cocktail.

    Mixers

    Orange Juice

    Cranberry Juice

    Pineapple Juice

    Grapefruit Juice

    Tomato Juice

    Sour Mix

    Bloody Mary Mix

    Pina Colada Mix

    Water

Sour mix can be powdered, bottled or in concentrate form. Bloody Mary mix is not necessary if you aren't making a lot of them. Pina Colada mix can be made yourself with pineapple juice and a cream of coconut, such as Coco Lopez. I use one large can of pineapple to two cans of coconut.

Use fresh fruit for your garnishes. Again, it depends on what you plan to make,

but this will prepare you for most cocktails. You can use your imagination and add fresh fruits,

candies, sprinkles, or even tiny umbrellas to give your own touch to your concoctions.

    Maraschino Cherries

    Cocktail Onions

    Whipped Cream

    Coarse Salt

    Sugar

    Powdered Chocolate

    Nutmeg

    Equipment

In a pinch, you could probably make most of these drinks with a glass and a chopstick,

but there are a few pieces of equipment which will make your mixing easier and classier.

You should obtain the following items:

    Basic equipment:

Tumblers [short, fat glasses, also known as "rocks" glasses]

Tall glasses [tall, thin glasses, also known as "highball" or "collins" glasses]

Shot glasses [for measuring and/or serving]

    Measuring glass

    Cocktail or Martini glasses

Margarita Glasses [optional -- they look like rounded martini glasses]

Stirrers [fancy glass wands, long-handled bar spoons, plastic forks, etc.]

Corkscrew [none of these drinks include wine, but you really should have one of these]

    Cocktail Shaker

Strainer [it's a round thing with coils all around one side]

Blender [only used for a few drinks]

Yes, well, its the standard 3 feet, but I would give it 4 feet if you have room because you will want it to extend far enough away from your carpeted floor so that spills can be cleaned easily. 3 Feet allows a person on a high bar chair to turn around and for leg room but it really isn't adequate for cleaning things up. Make it 4 feet if you can.How far in front of a home bar should tile go for seating?
3 feet should be enough, depending on how wide your bar stools are

  • Surfing the web on an iPhone at home, how do you know if you are on wifi or cellular since both bars appear.?

Are we to assume that when the wifi bars are there, then it is the default, or is there a more definitive way to be certain?

I just don't want to use up my cellular internet time when on the internet in a wifi hot spot like home or work.Surfing the web on an iPhone at home, how do you know if you are on wifi or cellular since both bars appear.?
The bars that you see have nothing to do with EDGE or Wi-Fi. Those bars tell you how good your signal strength is at that moment. If all of the bars are there, then you have great service and if there are one to two bars there, then you are more likely to get dropped from a phone call. The only way that EDGE comes into play with the bars is if you have one bar of service, then EDGE may not be available.

You can know if you are using EDGE or Wi-Fi by looking to the right of the bars. If there is a small blue box with an "E" in it, then you are using EDGE. If there is a three or four curved lines, then you are using a Wi-Fi connection.

It is a little hard to explain, but I hope you understand.

How long should I make my home bar?

I am planning a home bar as a weekend project and was wondering how long I should make my bar for 4 people to sit at comfortably. I am just trying to figure out how tall/long a 4 person bar is, not if it will fit in my room. How long should I make my home bar?
You have to base this on the stools you will be using. Get your stools out (buy them first if you have not already done so.) and then line them up with a comfortable distance between then and then measure for your bar accordingly.

This is the best way to go about this because if you measure first it will limit the kind of stools you will be able to get. I say get the stools first and then measure the bar based on the number of stools with a comfortable distance between them. How long should I make my home bar?
I'd figure about two feet wide per person to sit comfortably, 2陆 feet if you have more room!

Will it be illegal to have live electricity on your security gates and burglar bars when you are not at home?

Do you know someone who has done this and will you do this as well? Will it be illegal to have live electricity on your security gates and burglar bars when you are not at home?
It is illegal, i have a friend who does that to the inner gates at his house door , he has normal electric cables , twists them around the gates, the other end is just connected to a plug and he plugs it in every night...seemes like a cool idea to me , fry the bastards i say....
I don't think it will be possible - Eskom won't be able to keep up with the demand. Will it be illegal to have live electricity on your security gates and burglar bars when you are not at home?
I think you have to post a warning related to the possibility of electrocution. The same way people are required to warn the public to "beware of dog"......I don't know anyone who's done it, but I think its an awesome idea! Maybe I'll try it.
I am sure it is illegal it is classified as "excessive force" to protect your property and you will be prosecuted. I cant remember but I think with an electric fence also only allowed to have a certain voltage, not enough to kill. A normal house is 220 volts? I do not know of anyone that has done it, purely because they probably got rid of the evidence when they got home!! so do it just be careful to remove any evidence.......Will it be illegal to have live electricity on your security gates and burglar bars when you are not at home?
    Yes.

There are better ways to protect your property.
If we had stayed on in SA we would have done it. We already had steel pool fencing around our verandah, and it was just a metter of connecting it to the mains. That would have shot the bliksems back to Nomzamo and Lwandle chop, chop!
I don't know. Fate has a nasty way of backfiring. The least likely situation could take place, where your wife, your children, friends, household pets gets sizzled.

I know a guy that became so infuriated because his car was constantly broken into, even though they never managed to take the car itself. On one occasion he had a closed bottle of Brandy in the car (for a bring and braai) which was the only thing they managed to take. The next day he bought a new bottle of Brandy, spiked it with deadly poison, and left it in his cubby box for ages. But eventually yes, his car was broken into, they once again could not manage to steal the car, but found and took the bottle of brandy. Who ever had a sip of it would have died or landed up in the emergency ward.

How does one judge that! Considering everything that could go wrong.

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea but I would constantly panic about the unforeseen.

Can you still pack bars of soap from home for money?

I want to make extra money at home and remember as a child a friend that packed soaps mints etc for hotels and i was wondering how i cold contact this company... if they do not do this any more if any 1 could suggest something similar

many thanksCan you still pack bars of soap from home for money?
    No, don't do this.

Most homeworking schemes are scams, in that it's virtually impossible to make even the minimum wage doing it.

If you really want to work from home, you should look into setting up your own business - a business that's your OWN idea, I mean, not one of these get rich quick schemes. Nobody ever got rich doing tedious manual work for other people. Can you still pack bars of soap from home for money?
Ring up some local hotels, B%26amp;B's etc and just ask. You can make greeting cards for people and sell them locally like advertise in your neighbourhood. something like that. Can you still pack bars of soap from home for money?
No these are all done by factories. There is just about nothing you can do at home which is not a scam.
Rich B is right, don't pay money up front yourself for example.

Even if the work was poorly paid though, say worse than min wage, at least it might bring in extra cash if you have to stay in doors.

Is it immarure to go out drinking at bars and have a guys night when you have a girlfriend at home?

I mean I know you need time with your guy friends. But when it involves bars and possibly a strip club isn't that just immature? Is it immarure to go out drinking at bars and have a guys night when you have a girlfriend at home?
I would describe it as more disrespectful than immature.

Going out and doing things while leaving your girlfriend at home is not only selfish, but also rude and disrespectful. It's common sense to know that you shouldn't go to a strip club- especially if you have a girlfriend home alone while you're out partying. It's very inconsiderate.

Everyone needs time to hang with their friends. You shouldn't feel guilty about doing that, especially if she does it as well. You have to keep things balanced.

Just be mindful of what you're doing when you're out with friends. After all, you're not single.
No it's not immature to go out and have a few drinks with mates at a bar, a strip club is rude if you have a girlfriend. Yes you may love your girlfriend, but you need to give time to your friends also, and sometimes having that little bit of space makes you miss them just that much more. Personally if my boyfriend went to a strip club cause his friends came up with it on the spot and they begged him to come, he called me and said what was going on, it wouldn't bother me in the slightest, i know he only wants me and doesn't look at other girls. It's all about boundaries, trust and good open communication. Is it immarure to go out drinking at bars and have a guys night when you have a girlfriend at home?
It's not just immature, but disrespectful. If you're in a serious relationship with someone, they shouldn't even be out looking at naked skanks with their stupid friends while you sit at home alone, worrying about him.

A guys night is one thing, but going out and acting like a bachelor and possibly hitting on women at the bar is wrong. He'll just end up hurting you.
Well it is and it isn't! And also depends on how much you trust him! If you do then nothing to worry about and if you don't then that's different! I would say bar and pups no problem bur a strip bar then yes a bit!Is it immarure to go out drinking at bars and have a guys night when you have a girlfriend at home?
I would be ok with bars, but not clubs. That is just disrespectful.
Bars EVERY night is immature. Clubs are disrespectful. Go out to a bar sometimes with ur buddies, but not all the time.
if u go to a bar sometimes not manytimes.it's ok,and ur gf will understand that.u need pesonal time with fds.

maybe the strip club is a little immature, but hell no for just the bar. guys love chilling with their bros and getting semi-drunk.
Well that depends, do you not want to be one of those guys that is neglecting his wife and kids?

    Hmm :)
    No.
    I completely agree with Chad94!!!!
bar isnt bad, but i would have a problem with the strip club
    Bars fine.....just not clubs.

Married men picking up women at work and bars and taking them home/hotel?

Do women prefer to know you are married or should the ring come off? I have had success joking about the truth and the opposite way too.

Do women want to know and find it attractive or the opposite?

Please no judging... I am happy the girls must be happy why would they come otherwise?Married men picking up women at work and bars and taking them home/hotel?
Some women are attracted to married men. They see it as a challenge. The may not even want the men but just want to see if they can get them away from their wives. Some women actually fall in love with married men and want to take the place of the wives. Some women do it for the sex or for money. The list goes on and on. But some women are lied to by married men. The men say they are single. In any case, I think it is the husband's responsibility to his wife to remain faithful. This doesn't mean that the women are faultless because they carry a certain responsibility to themselves and other people. We should respect others and their relationships. Men come at me even though they see my wedding ring but I would not disrespect the love I have for my husband.
    You are a pig.

If the ring comes off, then as far as the girl knows, you're single, so how can you justify putting yourself in the same boat as her?

You're the only homewrecker, honey, cos you're the one looking for casual sex, and if the ring's off, you're deceiving them really, really badly, like in the worst way.Married men picking up women at work and bars and taking them home/hotel?
You're the only home wrecker in this. Girls who don't know you from a hill of beans aren't home wreckers. They're just out for a good time. You are an idiot...something tells me you're a Trollack.....
No, technically, you're a homewrecker, too.Married men picking up women at work and bars and taking them home/hotel?

I would get a lawyer ASAP. That school showed blatant negligence for the well being of your child. Do not hesitate to find out what your legal rights are. It's just as if someone came to your home and slipped on your property , they would have the right to sue you. Good luck.

Probably your first step should be to find out or have a lawyer find out what the school's policy is about injuries at school. That way you can address the specific areas in which they were negligent.

What do you think about people who go out to fast food restaraunts or dairy bars and take home an excessive?

They take home an excessive amount of ketchup packets, plastic utensils, napkins, etc........

was just wondering, wanted to get some opinionsWhat do you think about people who go out to fast food restaraunts or dairy bars and take home an excessive?
I will get a little bit of extra napkins and store them in my car for when I need one. now for the ketchup, salt, pepper, and hot sauce I dont gorge on but if I do have any left then I will put it up in my kitchen drawer for hard times. like when you need it and didnt know you were out! this is my opinion.
Same as stealing. Those items are there for your convenience WHILE in the establishment, not to stock your pantry! What do you think about people who go out to fast food restaraunts or dairy bars and take home an excessive?
Cheapskates who are inconsiderate, brainless, antisocial bumpkins.
    I think that its fine.

I mean, at least then they'll be used, not thrown on the ground and stomped on my some kid.

Plus, usually, you pay for your foods worth, and then some.

I don't see the problem with it.

    Then again,

its just like when they put a whole lot in your bag,

Its always too much to use.

I really don't think they even care. What do you think about people who go out to fast food restaraunts or dairy bars and take home an excessive?
I parable think that they cant buy there stuff from the store. Or there just to lazy to go to the store.
its stealling and stupid unless the person puts them in your bag (like 50 napkins) in that case it fine
I think it's ridiculous.. these are the same people that steal toilet paper out of rest room stalls.
I don't bother with the ketchups and stuff, but I always take home extra hot sauces from Taco Bell, because when I go to the drive thru they never give enough, so I keep some on hand at home.
Fast food is usually way overpriced. Taking this stuff is only fair to make up for the ridiculous prices. When they skimp on the lettuce, tomatoes, don't fill up the fries all the way, etc., they are stealing from us.

Bake for 30 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven, stirring every 10 minutes to toast evenly. Allow to cool completely before storing in an airtight container. Granola will become crunchier as it cools.

You could make buttercream by creaming together sugar and butter, this would work well as either the filling or frosting. Or you could melt the white chocolate and add that to the buttercream. If you use the buttercream on top of the cake, you could finish it off with a light dusting of cocoa powder. If you use some sort of shape like a heart shaped cookie cutter, you could sprinkle the cocoa powder through the cookie cutter creating a cocoa powder shape on top of the cake.

Hope this helps! What can i frost my white chocolate cake with? i have no cream at home only bars of white chocolate?

What's a cheap and safe way to get home (El Segundo) from bars and clubs in Los Angeles?

I will be spending a few nights in the area and I don't want to rent a car because we're drinking, they're expensive and we don't know the area. I don't think the buses or will run as late as we plan to be out. And taxi's look like they are going to be really expensive. Are there any other options for late night travel from downtown LA or Hollywood etc? What's a cheap and safe way to get home (El Segundo) from bars and clubs in Los Angeles?
From El Segundo not really. Your best bet would be to hook up with some local that you know real well and wants to party with you.

However, you may be able to get an awesome out of towner discount rate from the local limo services, especially on the week nights when the prices are substantially cheaper. I had a friend that did this once. She was lucky and got surprised by the cheap rate. You might be surprised, so try it out and ask around! They might even charge you per day instead of per hour. Get your friends to chip in too.
i would say a taxi would be your best betWhat's a cheap and safe way to get home (El Segundo) from bars and clubs in Los Angeles?
Someone needs to be the DD (designated driver) DD has to enjoy the fun without drinking. Remember DUI's are expensive.

    Have fun.
Word of advice??? Stay out of El Segundo!!!What's a cheap and safe way to get home (El Segundo) from bars and clubs in Los Angeles?
El Segundo? Why there? Especially for clubs!?

If you're staying in the downtown LA area, there's quite a few clubs there. However your best bet is Hollywood area. The metro runs down from the downtown to the Hollywood area (red line, I believe). Or, if you are staying near the Staples Center, there's the Blue line which runs parallel to the 110 freeway, and takes you to Long Beach. LB has a lot of clubs and restaurants too.

I agree with the other people. Rent a car and have a designated driver, or rent a driver. You need a car to get around the LA area

Where can I find home bar pictures/ideas?

I want to put a bar in my basement. I have a very general idea of what I want but would love to look at pictures of other people's home/basement bars to help give me more ideas. The style I would like to go after would be a pub like bar with the large mirror behind the bar and the dark wood maybe with carvings and such. I'm also looking for ideas of what to put into it. I'm thinking of having the ability to have two taps for draught. A mini-fridge, sink. Who knows what else...Where can I find home bar pictures/ideas?

I'm looking forward to one day being able to design a home bar myself. But for now, I suppose I'll have to settle for the kitchen counter.

And as for your idea about the mirror, I think it would be a great touch. Mirrors are a great way to add space and dimension to any interior. There is a website similar to the one above that seems to have a lot of options for large mirrors and wall mirrors: http://www.simplymirrors.com/wall-mirror鈥?/a>

Some wonderful books are always at the hardware stores like Home-Depot and Lowe's Hardware stores. Also check online for bar set ups and building in your basement. Any creative ideas are found easily and then apply exactly what you want.

  • Suggestions for a soda-dispenser for my home (like those in restuarants/bars)? See...?

    ...details....
Are there units and providers for home delivery? I'm really looking for a way to have club soda/selter/carbonated water in bulk (while keeping it's fiz and hopefully being less impact on environment). Anyone done this before, maybe a home bar? What are normal costs or any other considerations? Thanks!Suggestions for a soda-dispenser for my home (like those in restuarants/bars)? See...?
I have a system made especially for the home user. it is basically a self contained carbonating system. you put the syrup concentrate in the glass, and add carbonated water. Advantage: since it only contacts water, there's not much cleaning involved. It uses 5# CO2 bottles, which I think can now be refilled pretty readily. Also, you can use pretty much any concentrate for the flavor syrup. it's also fun for kids. my cost, 15 years ago: around $200 for the machine.

Next option: Cornelius system. This system uses 5 gallon pressure cylinders of mixed beverage, with a CO2 tank providing the pressure to carbonate the mix. disadvantage: you must either mix your beverage in 5 gallon batches, or buy premix. Also, uses ice, or has its own refrigeration system, and needs to be cleaned daily. (I guess you could fill the cylinders with clean water, and add it to your concentrate and save the cleaning) I can't give you a cost, since I am familiar with using this system for my FD 4th of july barbecue, and the supplier does not charge for use. (and stores the system in our station in between) (if you check out home brewing websites, this system can be used for beer as well)

Modern soda fountain: again, no cost figures for you, but you buy the syrup in 2 gallon carton packs, and the system uses a pressure pump to produce the fizz. I think it actually uses compressed atmospheric air, rather than bottled CO2, but I'm not sure... again, the dispenser needs to be cleaned daily, or it gets NASTY.
Follow the link for step-by-step instructions and illustrations. I've built one, and it really works! It isn't the prettiest thing, but it is quite cost effective. It helps if you have a truck and someone tool inclined, but nothing more complicated than simple plumbing.

"The cost to convert tap water to seltzer is less than $0.04 per 2-liter bottle. A single fill of a 20-lb tank charges over 500 bottles."

To go back to Y Classic Mail trick it:

Here are several solutions for you.

Note: As of May 31st, you can no longer switch back. Yahoo's removed the link to return to the classic version. If your previous version was the New Mail, then it SEEMS that that's what you're stuck with %26amp; you can't get it back.
BUT, If you have stalled from "upgrading" (like me) then the trick below will work.

To get back to the Classic version (easily %26amp; permanently) you'll have to lower the resolution on your PC to the point where it won't support the Beta version.

To do this Right click on a blank space on your desktop %26amp; choose "Properties". Select the "Settings" tab. Move the slider that says "Screen resolution" all the way to the left (or Below 1024 by 768 pixels) Click OK. You may have to restart your PC (depending on your settings)

After rebooting or logging into your Y mail account like normal while in this new low screen resolution you'll be asked to switch to the new mail. Do so %26amp; click OK or upgrade (don't worry). When you're in the new mail you'll brought to a page that tells you the resolution is to low. It'll give you a few chooses. Choose the "last one" which will say something like 'go back to the previous version you were using'. Click that %26amp; you'll be brought your old classic mail. Log out of Y mail. Now you can change your screen resolution like it was before. This should be permanent - not just one-time (or until Y mail fixes/forces this too upon us hopefully many months away)

You can also use these two links though it's only a temp fix %26amp; you'll have to use them every time to access the Classic version.

Would you be for it if they decided to make smoking tobacco illegal in all places except at bars, and at home?

where i a live its almost like that any more

it should be outside or at homeWould you be for it if they decided to make smoking tobacco illegal in all places except at bars, and at home?
Smoking is illegal in bars in California. As much as I hate smoking I have to say no. I think there should be certain designated areas where people can smoke but a blanked ban of smoking in public is going too far.
2nd hand smoke regardless of health risks is disgusting, If I go to a restraunt or store why should I have to deal with other peoples disgusting habits by having bursts of cancer smoke blown into my face.Would you be for it if they decided to make smoking tobacco illegal in all places except at bars, and at home?
You mean bars that have bartenders and waiters? Do you mean home, even if it is a hospice shared by terminal cancer patients? Get specific.
Yeh sure. Why not. Just throw pot into that as well and I'll be happy.Would you be for it if they decided to make smoking tobacco illegal in all places except at bars, and at home?
    Who would?

How are bars legal, most people drink at bars, and how do they get home legally? Most don't have a DD...?

how is it legal for bars to exist, I understand if you have a designated driver, but that's rarely the case. Almost everyone that goes to a bar is looking to get trashed(or maybe it is only that way here where I live, mostly a bunch of low life alcoholics and druggies) so why do cops not watch to see if people that are drinking are driving. Why do they not make the person who says they are driving take a breath elizer(can't spell it, sorry) before they leave. It's not worth someones life just to have a few drinks and go home, if you want to play pool, get a pool table, or if you want to hang out with friends and drink, why not camp out together so you can all drink and not have to worry about going home or driving....I don't know, it just frustrates me how bars are perfectly legal, our state is zero tolerance, so one drink is considered illegal, like the ad says, buzzed driving is drunk driving. How are bars legal, most people drink at bars, and how do they get home legally? Most don't have a DD...?
    Taxi.
their like "screw the police, I'm as sober as a mouse drinking anti acid"How are bars legal, most people drink at bars, and how do they get home legally? Most don't have a DD...?
A BARS BUSINESS IS TO PLEASE CUSTOMERS, IT IS NOT THE BARS RESPONSIBLILITY TO MAKE SURE THOSE DRUNK IDIOTS DONT DRIVE. THERE IS ALWAYS A CAB COMPANY TO CALL. JUST LIKE A PHONE COMPANY DOESNT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR DRIVERS TALKING AND DRIVING, OR A FAST FOOD CHAIN WILL NOT KEEP PEOPLE FROM EATING ON THE ROAD, WHICH IS JUST AS DANGEROUS. you must not go to bars else you would have a different opinion,

i got a joke to go with it. an officer is watching the local bar when a drunk comes out. is is so wasted he walkes up to a couple of cars and tries his keys out, none of them are his, he drops his keys a few time. the cop watches as other couples leave the bar to head home. meanwhile the drunk is still tripping over his feet and missing his car. as soon as he gets in the seat and starts the car, the cop turns on his lights. he gives the drunk a breatalizer test. the test turns up a 0.0 . the cop says "your not drunk" to which the man replies, "no, im the designated decoy"
I live in Louisiana and we have drive through Daquiri shops. They tape the lids and don't put in the straw. The second you insert the straw, it becomes an open container. Explain that one!!How are bars legal, most people drink at bars, and how do they get home legally? Most don't have a DD...?
Not all people drink to get drunk. You can go to a bar and stay for hours and stay within the legal limits of driving. This is what they call drinking responsibly. If you get carried away, there are Taxi's, buses, friends, family, or walking.
Logical, very logical, and normally what this almost-pollyanna has usually done.

But see, we all need a change of scenery.

We all have friends who just won't leave.

We all have friends who live at home with parents, and it's not fair when they can't open up their home for us, too.

    And, hey, this is life.

These people have to learn the hard way, because if we all go getting paranoid, no one will ever leave home, and then we can't even get to our friends' houses anyway!
    Alcohol is bad for you.

I think a lot of people find a thrill in being "the other woman/man," they want to be desired by someone that should have eyes for only one person ever. But of course there's plenty of women and men who would not involve themselves with a committed man/woman.
wild sex and sex with strange women is every man dream. But not a married man. What good for you should be good for her. and married built and base on trust. If the woman is desperate and wants it real bad she will not care one way or the other. But you must realize that you are just a tool to them. A tool.
it all depends on the girl.. Some women do not care either way, some are turned off by the ring, and some prefer the ring on.. i prefer no ring but that they are honest and tell they are married..

Chin-ups, push up, casts, skin the cat, basket hang and things like that are really good to build up arm strength but to do back hip circles you also need stomach muscles so things like sit ups, v snaps and dish are good for that.

I used to find that I did get bruises on my hips but you get used to it over time so the bruises will most likely fade.

It is a resin that normally comes in two parts. You have to have a mold form around the surface and it is poured in. I have seen it in hobby stores for making clocks and small pictures. Quite expensive for large project. Might be able to find maker from hobby packages and buy in bulk.
the word "decoupage" is often used, and I suspect an epoxy coating rather than a lacquer will be more suitable. Typing "decoupage" and "bar" and optionally "epoxy" into you favorite internet search engine should get you a lot of information.

Here is one link for a start http://jgreer.com/ but you can no doubt find many other sources, you didn't say where you are, while this supplier says the ship "nationwide", if you are not in the US that might not help you. What is the exact name and procedure for applying the thick coat of lacquer to the top of my home bar.?
this is very simple to do if you have a few extra pairs of hands and the time to do it. You can find this at home depot. It is called Glaze Coat. It is a little pricey but I have used it on a bar top already. If the bar top is a large surface to be covered use a propane torch to pull the air bubbles out of the glaze coat. This stuff does have a very short working time so thats why you need a couple extra pairs of hands. It is also helpful to have some sort of screeding tool whether it be a piece of wood or like a floor squeege. Just make sure it will clear both sides of the bar this will help move the material around.

Is there anyway to make home made chocolate bars?

they dont need to be in bar shape and stuff but chocolate. not cake but am watchin the creepy version of willy womka and i need chocolate! Is there anyway to make home made chocolate bars?
    sure!

all you need is chocolate and everything else you like in your bars.

you should take a small square pan, put a baking sheet in it, melt chocolate and now you can either:

    1. pour chocolate on the bottom and then top is with, peanuts, pretzels, rice crispies, wafers, melted peanuts butter or a mixture of all these stuff. then, you pour another layer of melted chocolate and put it in the refrigerator.

    2. mix one or all the above ingredients and stir into the melted chocolate and then put in the refrigerator.

once its hard you can cut it into squares and enjoy! Is there anyway to make home made chocolate bars?

I like the original with Gene Wilder.

Do people really go to bars and drive home under the legal intoxication limit?

Isn't it like you can only one drink an hour to stay under the legal limit. That would defeat the point of going to a barDo people really go to bars and drive home under the legal intoxication limit?
most people are over the limit when driving from a bar but since people have different tolerances some may not appear drunk. basically two drinks and your over the limit, but if you get pulled over after two drinks and have a high tolerance you would give no reason for a cop to suspect you've been drinking. you shouldnt drive after any drinks, but if you do, just know what you can handle.
i don't drink %26amp; meet my friends at bars, clubs, etc. all the time. i go there to socialize, dance, play pool - not to drink. my friends may have a couple of drinks, but we all drive home under the legal limit.Do people really go to bars and drive home under the legal intoxication limit?
only the DD's, or those that quit drinking long before leaving.

For this reason I'm looking into buying a personal breathalyzer. You can buy them for like $100 and keep it in your car. I can go out to happy hour have 2-3 beers and an appetizer, feel 100% sober, pass a field sobriety test and probably still get a DUI.
    Yes!!

Being responsible rules!!!Do people really go to bars and drive home under the legal intoxication limit?
Personally, if I volunteer to be the DD (we all take turns) I don't drink a drop just coz I don't want to give the law any ammo to harrass me. Yeah, it's a bit of a drag occasionally, but we make up for it when it's our turn to drink. If there is a really fantastic band or great party, we take a taxi home after walking downtown. (gotta love small town Wyoming lol)
Yes, people really do leave the bar well under the intoxication limit. I am one of those folks. I really like to dance and that's why I go - for the music and the to hang w/ friends. I don't have to be falling down drunk off my @** to have a good time.

    Besides, that's SO college. hehe.

    :-)
yes, it's called being responsible or the designated driver.

Using home theater sound bars to help create real surround sound ?

I've been reading up on these bars and I'm wondering if any one could Direct me to sites that really get into the nuts and bolts of how they perform and the many ways you can use them in ether a Stereo or surround sound system.say can you use they along with 2 pair of tower speakers(front and back) to create a simulated surround sound system? Using home theater sound bars to help create real surround sound ?
If you are talking about soundbars like the Yamaha YSP series then the soundbar IS real surround sound. Even though there are no speakers behind you the soundbar uses the walls to reflect sound in a way that places the effects in the right location. In that case there is no need to add speakers and in fact no way to direct the correct sound to those speakers if you did. The soundbars are most effective of course in certain types of rooms but between the setup and auto calibration they now have they are pretty versatile.Using home theater sound bars to help create real surround sound ?
Here is a website that gives an overview of 7 popular sound bars and how they work and how they perform with music and movies.

And if you are going to buy a sound bar, then there is really no need for tower speakers as well. I would just use one or the other.

Where can I buy foil packaging for my home made Energy Bars. Want to use same type of package Cliff bar uses?

Cliff bar started off as a fairly small company. You may be able to call them and ask them who does their packaging. Or, look on the package to see if you can find who does it. Contact them and ask them about it.

  • Is there a weight limit to checked-in baggage and can I carry-on candy bars from home?//?

The answers to your question vary from airline to airline, and are also depending on destination.

US domestic flights - you are usually limited to two pieces of checked baggage weighting no more than 50 pounds each (23kg).

International flights - it used to be 2 pieces of baggage 70 pounds (32kg) each, but now most airlines also cut that to 50 pounds a bag. I think all US carriers have, but some foreigh airlines will still allow two 70 pound pieces.

Carry on, again the rule of a thumb - one piece of carry on luggage, plus in addition to this piece you can have any or all of these:

    - A laptop in a laptop case

    - A camera bag full of photo/video equipment

    - A purse with usual stuff (no scissors, nail files, liquids)

    - An umbrella

Yes, there is often weight limit on carry on bag (the one that goes besides the extras), and it is something like 20 pounds or so. However - while your checked baggage is always weighted, your carry on almost never is. Unless it looks like it's too heavy (too big, or you are visibly struggling to pick it up). So if you stuff a lot of things into carry on, at least pretend it isn't heavy :)

Finally - there is no restriction on number of candy bars you can take on board, for as long as they don't break the weight limit discussed above :)Is there a weight limit to checked-in baggage and can I carry-on candy bars from home?//?
Up to 50 lbs, anything more is over weight and you will be charged a fee. Carry-on bags the limit is 25 lbs, but seldomly carry-ons are weighed.

There are no restrictions on candy bars in carry on luggage.
Weight limit on Southwest within the US, is 50 lbs for checked bags.

Put the candy bars in the checked bags.

Chocolate has the same density as plastic explosives, so it will probably be inspected after checked. There is no limit on checked candy bars, so you will be ok. Put other heavy items in your carry on ( follow the rules on liquids, and cosmetic pastes etc).

May the force be with you.....Is there a weight limit to checked-in baggage and can I carry-on candy bars from home?//?
    yes and yes!
Yes. Usually the baggage that is stored in the storage part of the plane cannot weight more then 40 pounds.

Carry-on usually has no limit however, so put the heaviest things in that.

And no, no food or drink of any sort can be taken on the plane. (Instead you can spend six bucks on one of theirs.)Is there a weight limit to checked-in baggage and can I carry-on candy bars from home?//?
    No. Yes
yes candy bars are allowed... go to the tsa website: http://www.tsa.dhs.gov/travelers/airtrav鈥?/a> to see what you can and can not bring on board.

How old is he? Has he finished growing? Weightlifting can damage bone growth in kids. Check with a sports doctor about this, please. My son is bringing home protiein bars should be alowed to have them.he wants to build mucsle will it work?
Corrosion is correct, if your son is still growing and he gets into an agressive weight lifting program, he can do damage to joints, tendons and muscle. Protein Bars should not be used as a meal replacement, but should be used just prior to or even just after working out. They should not be eaten just as a snack on a regular basis either. Increasing your protein intake without a regular workout and exercise program amy contribute to weight loss, and not muscle gain. If your body takes in considerably more protein than carbs, then the protein will start to burn the body's fat cells causing weight loss, which would contradict his wishes to build muscle. Do consider speaking with a nutrionist in your area, about a balanced diet for building muscle the healthy way, to many kids today buy into the shortcuts advertised by some of the "health food" companies.
