Is there a weight limit to checked-in baggage and can I carry-on candy bars from home?//?

The answers to your question vary from airline to airline, and are also depending on destination.

US domestic flights - you are usually limited to two pieces of checked baggage weighting no more than 50 pounds each (23kg).

International flights - it used to be 2 pieces of baggage 70 pounds (32kg) each, but now most airlines also cut that to 50 pounds a bag. I think all US carriers have, but some foreigh airlines will still allow two 70 pound pieces.

Carry on, again the rule of a thumb - one piece of carry on luggage, plus in addition to this piece you can have any or all of these:

- A laptop in a laptop case

- A camera bag full of photo/video equipment

- A purse with usual stuff (no scissors, nail files, liquids)

- An umbrella

Yes, there is often weight limit on carry on bag (the one that goes besides the extras), and it is something like 20 pounds or so. However - while your checked baggage is always weighted, your carry on almost never is. Unless it looks like it's too heavy (too big, or you are visibly struggling to pick it up). So if you stuff a lot of things into carry on, at least pretend it isn't heavy :)

Finally - there is no restriction on number of candy bars you can take on board, for as long as they don't break the weight limit discussed above :)Is there a weight limit to checked-in baggage and can I carry-on candy bars from home?//?
Up to 50 lbs, anything more is over weight and you will be charged a fee. Carry-on bags the limit is 25 lbs, but seldomly carry-ons are weighed.

There are no restrictions on candy bars in carry on luggage.
Weight limit on Southwest within the US, is 50 lbs for checked bags.

Put the candy bars in the checked bags.

Chocolate has the same density as plastic explosives, so it will probably be inspected after checked. There is no limit on checked candy bars, so you will be ok. Put other heavy items in your carry on ( follow the rules on liquids, and cosmetic pastes etc).

yes and yes!
Yes. Usually the baggage that is stored in the storage part of the plane cannot weight more then 40 pounds.

Carry-on usually has no limit however, so put the heaviest things in that.

And no, no food or drink of any sort can be taken on the plane. (Instead you can spend six bucks on one of theirs.)Is there a weight limit to checked-in baggage and can I carry-on candy bars from home?//?
