HONEY NUT BARS
INGREDIENTS...
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup honey
2 eggs
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup dates, pitted and chopped
1/3 cup confectioners' sugar for decoration
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter an 8-inch square cake pan.
Melt the butter over low heat and pour into a large mixing bowl. Add the honey and eggs, and beat well. Mix in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix in the walnuts and dates. Spread batter in pan
Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until light brown. Let cool for 5 to 10 minutes. Cut into bars and roll in confectioners' sugar.
FUDGE OATMEAL NUT BARS
INGREDIENTS..........
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 cups packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups quick-cooking oats
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
FUDGE FILLING
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup chopped walnuts
DIRECTIONS
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Combine oats, flour, baking soda and salt; add to the creamed mixture. Spread two-thirds in the bottom of an ungreased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan; set aside. For filling, heat milk, chocolate chips, butter and salt in a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl until melted. Remove from the heat; stir in vanilla and walnuts. Spread over oat mixture in pan. Drop remaining oat mixture by tablespoonfuls over chocolate. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 to 25 minutes.
FRUIT AND SPICE NUT BARS
INGREDIENTS..........
3/4 cup maraschino cherries, chopped
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, divided
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup honey
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup chopped walnuts
3/4 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
1 1/3 cups confectioners' sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
DIRECTIONS
In a small bowl, toss cherries with 1/4 cup flour; set aside. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add egg and honey; mix well. Combine the baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and remaining flour; add to creamed mixture. Stir in nuts, chocolate chips and reserved cherries.
Spread into a greased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. In a small bowl, combine the confectioners' sugar, milk and vanilla until smooth; drizzle over warm bars. Cool on a wire rack for 1 hour.

Ingredients
* 1 cup chopped walnuts
* 1 cup chopped dates
* 3/4 cup flour
* 3 eggs
* 1 1/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
* 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
# Heat oven to 350 degrees. Butter well a square cake pan. Mix dates and nuts with a sprinkling of flour to separate.
# Beat eggs well. Add sugar and beat again until very light and fluffy. Mix together the flour, baking powder and salt.
# Add flour mixture to egg mixture. Blend. Mix in the dates and nuts.
# Pour the batter into the buttered pan. Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until bars are firm when pressed with fingers. Cool for ten minutes. Cut into bars. Enjoy!What are some good recipes for home-made nut bars?
