Why is the cell phone service in my home very bad?

I have AT%26amp;T and I really dislike the way their service is in my home. Service will go Back and forth from two bars to none which is very disturbing because dropped calls happen very often and we can't have a conversation or take care of business without leaving the neighborhood. What can I do about this? Should this be my phone companys problem? Why is the cell phone service in my home very bad?

This is pretty common with phone service providers. The location of a home relative to the nearest cell towers in addition to the walls is simply too much for the signal to get through. Line of sight is key for wireless communication. You MIGHT get better service with a different phone, or a different service provider. But, you might not. If you can afford it, your best option is to get a better phone that will work off of your wifi at home, or use a computer based phone service like skype.

What should my daughter respond when people make fun of her for staying home?

My daughter was out with her boyfriend and his friends were teasing her because she does not go out every single night. She is 17 and likes her boyfriend but does not go out with him and his friends when they go to bars. She does not like the scene. They were asking her why does she stay home all of the time? She said that she felt a little embarrassed and did not know how to respond. What should she respond to put them in their place? What should my daughter respond when people make fun of her for staying home?
I'm 17 too and I often stay at home too :)

Some people are just home bodies, I love to be at home doing anything, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy going out every now and then. If that's what your daughter is like then it shouldn't be a problem because she does go out every now and then. Tell her to just tell them that she likes being at home, it's not a big deal.

If she doesn't go out because of the drinking scene then it shouldn't be an issue, eventually the kids will get over the intriguing alcohol phase, and will just leave her alone. afterall, they are her boyfriend's friends not bullies or strangers

for now, tell her to just do what she wants, they'll get over it.
I think your daughter should tell them the truth and say she's not so fond of the bar scene. Wouldn't she rather be around people who like her for who she is then what she's not? Maybe she should talk to her boyfriend about it, he might not see that their questions make her feel embarrassed, if he did he could talk to his friends about it or stand up for her when his friends teased her.

If her boyfriend isn't bothered then i suggest that he isn't the right guy for her, however much she likes him. What should my daughter respond when people make fun of her for staying home?
I would encourage your daughter to find someone who feels the same way about these things. This could be a recipe for disaster if their relationship became more serious in the future. I can just see it her home with the baby while daddy is clubbing all the time. Also, if he really cares for her she shouldn't have to defend herself.
She might ask them why they would feel it necessary for her to go out every night. Maybe it's necessary for them, escaping a dysfunctional family perhaps? But it's just not her thing. Or maybe that's just the right answer right there. "just not my thing"

Of course updated into whatever the modern slang terms are *grin*

Hang in there :)

BillWhat should my daughter respond when people make fun of her for staying home?
well my boyfriend is the same thing as ur daughter ..he hardly go out with me and my friends to bars and clubs at all..where im from 21 is the legal age to go to bars.when ur daughter goes with her boyfriend is it mix crowd or just mostly guys?single or with boyfriend and girlfriend? sometimes that can b a reason too..she can prolly suggest that we dont have to go to the bar every single night maybe instead of going to bars every nite.she can offer or ask what else we can do other than bar?
whoever said she is a crappy mom is a retarded piece of crap themselves...

no, that's an insult to the disabled and to crap...

you're something beyond words

anywho, she should say "at least i have less of a chance of dying in a car crash." the fear of death usually shuts people up, and it's too awkward of a comeback for someone to respond to
They don't need to be "put in their place." If her boyfriend's friends are being that rude and mean to her, I would consider that grounds for a break up. He needs to stand up for her OR get them to stop saying those things. If he just sits back and let them talk to her like that, he's not worth it.
in my opinion she has more class than her friends or rather his friends, i would never hang out in a bar, im not a bar fly.

she could be into sports, take a night class, or she just enjoys her home life.

she could tell them she has nothing to run away from.
what i told my boyfriends friends when they asked me that was this "Maybe because i want to" or this "That's not your Business" or"Am just not kind of girl that likes to go out every single night" or just no-re them.
She can tell them not to bother her when they are alcoholics, druggies or parents before their time becuase she is a good girl who actually has goals and plans.
She should tell them it isn't their business or that she doesn't want the drama that comes along with the bar scene.
She should chastise their hell-bent anti-christian adttitutdes towards alcohol and partying.
What the ****? You're a crappy mom. You should know what to tell her. Stop pretending you are your mom, okay?

How do I make special shaped chocolates at home?

Im thinking and planning to make some chocolates at home with some special molds I have for a party. I want to know what is the best chocolate to use or a brand you would suggest. I know there are chocolate bars you just melt then pour on the mold but I want to get some advice froms someone who has been successful in a similar project. Thanks! How do I make special shaped chocolates at home?
You temper your chocolate or melt your chocolate and put it in a mould that you can find at craft stores. You could also use soap moulds as well. Good Luck.
Well I usually buy the chocolate mets (they come in several different colors) at Walmart or Micheals. I spray the flour added spray into the molds melt the chocolate pieces in a glass measuring cup in the micro pour it into a decorating bag and cut just the tip off (I do it this way so that I can put the color right where I want it) It makes for better looking pieces and also gives them that professional look as well.

Good luck and have fun.How do I make special shaped chocolates at home?
Try using a double boiler to melt the chocolate and use a plastic mold to make the shapes. Dont forget to spray the mold with non stick spray.
I just took a class on this last weekend. For real chocolate you will need to temper the chocolate after it is melted so that it will harden correctly and not be cloudy. Tempering chocolate differs based on if it is white, dark or milk chocolate you are working with. You can buy candy coating if you do not want to mess with tempering, but it does not taste as good.

I would get a good book on chocolate making that can walk you through the steps with photos for tempering.

Don't use non-stick spray. If the chocolate is properly tempered it will contract from the edges of the mold on its own. You will want to tap the filled mold on the counter to get any air bubbles out, then place the filled molds in the refridgerator until hardened. If the chocolate won't release from the mold, put it back in the fridge longer and try again.

You can buy chocolate and/or candy coating, and the molds at a baking/sweet store. Try your local yellow pages. How do I make special shaped chocolates at home?
oh goodness gurl ur lucky i gave u advive!! lol j/k well all u got to do is melt it then put it in a mold

  • How do you build a bar for your home?

I built my own using 18 gauge steel studs as the frame. The top was built out of 2 sheets of 3/4 exterior ply and tile and I used wood and composites on the rest. I also built a bar/outdoor kitchen for a friend and we used concrete backer board and tile instead of a wood covering. If you want, email me and I will send you pics and more info on my bar.

Follow up: If the bar is going to be indoors you can use wood studs instead of steel. How do you build a bar for your home?

If you do not have the ability to restore the phone via iTunes, you will have to take it to an Apple store or AT%26amp;T and lie to them about how it stopped working. Do NOT say you unlocked it or they will charge you.

How do I get plastic off the glass and the metal bars of the fireplace?

My brothers friends left my guitar hero guitar leaning against our gas fireplace and luckily I caught it before it got really bad, but it melted enough that its becoming troublesome. Before the glass is small metal bars that are maybe a cenimeter thick. I got some of the plastic off. But there is still some on the glass but its hard to reach. I would really like to be able to fix this before my father gets home on Christmas day from work. How do I get plastic off the glass and the metal bars of the fireplace?
TRY BRAKE PARTS CLEANER. JUST USE A TOOTH BRUSH AFTER YOU SPRAY IT ON. BE QUICK BECAUSE ITS GOING TO START EATING THE TOOTHBRUSH BRISTLES. MAKE SURE THAT ITS BEEN A FEW HOURS BEFORE YOU LIGHT A FIRE AGAIN. YOU GOT THE CLEANER AT THE AUTO PARTS STORE FOR ABOUT 3-4 BUCKS.How do I get plastic off the glass and the metal bars of the fireplace?
as far as getting the plastic off, you're gonna have to get a lighter or something and heat it back up the wipe it off or scrape it off. the lighter will leave little charmarks on the glass but use toothpaste to get that off. don't try to turn the fireplace back on to get the plastic hot. them the matal and glass will get hot too. you want to centralive where the heat goes so use a lighter. a fireplace lighter would be good.

What's the best way to stay safe when walking home late at night?

I often finish my job quite late at night, and have to walk about half a mile home. it isn't too far, but I have to pass a number of bars and pubs on the way, and it can get a bit intimidating. I then have to walk down some very quiet streets to reach my house, which again, is a bit nerve-racking. Any tips for staying safe?

p.s- as you can probably tell I had no idea what to categorise this question as!What's the best way to stay safe when walking home late at night?
get a taxi girl, never walk home alone at night......
use a taxi or buy a carWhat's the best way to stay safe when walking home late at night?
Can you not get a taxi or get someone to walk home with you.

If you have no option but to walk, get an alarm, carry some sort of aerosol, walk confident, also have you're mobile handy with 999 dialled into it...... get home as quickly as you can..

    keep safe x
Try to walk back with a colleague from work. If you cant, then always walk in well lit roads, walk with purpose, dont keep looking back or looking nervous. Carry a personal alarm in your pocket and a small can of hairspray ( you can spray this in someones eyes which will give you minutes to get away)What's the best way to stay safe when walking home late at night?
I would buy a panick alarm, just to be safe, stick to main roads if you can or try to get someone to meet you, in this day and age you should not walk home alone, try and change your hours at work.....
ask a guy to walk you home
run as fast as u can or walk with a friend
2 Rottweilers and a shotgun, or more practical a taxi - make sure it's a licenced one though.
When I have to walk home at night I stay in the middle of the road. Stay away from bushes and trees. When you come to a corner walk in the middle of the road first and go around from there. If someone comes at you then you have precious seconds to think. If a car comes the driver will see you. But if you can try and get a taxi.
When I feel uncomfortable about walking alone i usually phone someone on my mobile so it makes me a little less approachable....it also means that if god-forbid something did happen, the person on the other end of the phone would know!you could always get a panic alarm if you feel really un-easy about it.
just walk slow and when you are walking look at behind you everytime , if you see somebody walking behind you or about 20 meter away from you just dont walk slow , u need to carry on walking hard, because many people got killed of going home at the night.
    1) Walk always against the traffic flow (this means that you should be able to look cars coming from the front)

    2) Walk in well lighted and crowded areas, avoid short-cuts such as alleys at all cost.

    3) Never take lifts from strangers.

    4) If you can, tell a co-worker to join as far as you both can, call / ask her to whenever you gals arrive home.

    5) Not least try an alternate and safe route to walk home, never stick just to one, alternate days going this or that way.
id say CS gas to keep in your handbag! and also a rape alarm, or talk to someone on your mobile on the way home.
    get a weapon
stay to well light streets perfebly with cctv as you will be moniterd if you are by your self at night, aslo you could by a personal saftey alarm you pull the pin out if you fell threatend, you could aslo call someone before you leave work and then call theme again when you get home so if you dont get home in a resonbale amount of time your friend can contact police aslo see if you can walk with someone from work
A friend of mine works in a terrible neghborhood, and she has to walk up to the train (el train in Chicago) a few blocks away. She is always sure to tie up her hair; long hair is a good way for people to grab you and yank you down. She usually puts it into a close hat, wears jeans and a hoodie or plain jacket, no purse, and tries to walk like a guy.
You might consider riding a bicycle. This would put you a bit safer...but, if you have to walk, there are many little things that you can do to be more secure.

*First of all, walk with confidence and act like you're not afraid and you know what you're doing. This will also put off the air that you know how to handle yourself if anyone were to approach you.

*Carry a whistle in your hand or around your wrist like a bracelet. Be prepared to blow it loud if anyone innappropriately approaches you.

*Purchase a small thing of pepper spray. Walk with it in your hand.

*Take a couple of self defense classes at your local community center. You don't have to be a black belt, but learn a few key places to attack. For instance, if you hit someone square in the nose, it's going to slow them down considerably. Same with the eyes and, of course, the groin.

*Despite the quiet, don't wear headphones or anything else that could limit your ability to hear what's going on around you.

*Practice being super aware of your surroundings. Know every tree, alley, doorway, and shady place between your office and your home. Be very alert to any people around you.

*Have your cell phone handy. If you get extra nervous, dial in 911, have your phone open, and that way, all you have to do is press send. Even if something happened and you dropped the phone, they can track where you are.

*Have a buddy that you can call just to say, "Okay, I'm headed home now, I'll call you when I get there. Then call when you're home. That way, even though no one is with you, someone's still waiting for you.

**And remember, if anyone ever tries anything with you, to take you, rape you, make you go somewhere with them, FIGHT BACK for all your worth. You're still safer on a dark street than you are in the car of a strange, dangerous attacker.
If you routinely walk home late at night after work, I hope you wear a pair of shoes that you can run in, should the need arise (hopefully not heels or pumps).

Also, if you make it a routine to do this, be aware that others might become aware of the routine...someone can always be watching, and it's not in your favor if they are knowledgeable about your route and schedule.

If you have long hair, tie it back in a bun, or smash it underneath a cap/hat (nothing that will hinder your view). Wipe off all your makeup before heading out. If you're wearing a skirt, change into pants. And again, I hope you're not wearing heels.

Walk briskly and with purpose, and try to look pissed off. When you're passing the bars and pubs, continue to look pissed off...don't let on that you're intimidated. If guys are hanging out on the sidewalk for a smoke, and they see that you are pissed off and unapproachable, they won't try to engage you in conversation.

Do NOT chat on your cell phone or listen to your iPod while walking (you need to pay strict attention to your surroundings).

Don't carry an expensive, or large, purse/bag. And don't carry the satchel type that you have to carry in your hand. Don't carry too much with you...just the absolute essentials...keys, ID, small amount of cash, cell phone, MACE/PEPPER SPRAY. Again, if your purse is large, you'll have to dig around and fumble around to fish them out of your bag.

Carry a purse with long enough straps so you can wear it messenger bag style (you'll have both hands free then). A shoulder bag worn on the shoulder will also leave you with both hands free, however, you can't run as well with a shoulder bag falling off your shoulder.

Regarding the MACE/PEPPER SPRAY...make sure you know ahead of time how to use it....if you need to use it, you don't want to be fumbling around with it.
Poor girl. Life is full of uncertainty. Sometime, however prepared you are, some unfortunate thing can also happen. But it's always better to be prepared then be sorry. I suggest that instead of walking home alone through those imtimidating areas, it would be better if you could arrange some personal transport to home. It would cost you some money but life is more important than money. Take care,
I walk and run alone at night. I'm a cross country runner, and live near downtown. I carry pepper spray, my cell phone at all times, and wear approriate clothes. I've yet to have any problems, and have been out alone at night every night for the past few years.
get a taxi and get your employer to pay surely they have a duty to make sure you arrive home safely?!
    get a taxi

You can try to get an external antenna for the phone which is supposed to increase reception and signal strength.

You can't drink and drive. Open containers do not apply to passengers in RVs, motor homes, or Limos.
In a motorhome most laws state that you can not have any sort of alcohol within arms reach of the driver. Other than that it should be fine.In TX., there ia an "open container" law; How does this work, if you are in your Motor-home ?
huh - good question when you think about it....

In NJ, I have to make sure that the wine and beer are stashed in the trunk, particularly if they have already been opened. I could get ticketed even if a passenger is holding an open drink.

I would think that if the alcohol is in a LOCKED cabinet in your motor-home, it wouldn't be an issue, but if is out/visible, then they might ticket you.

    Call the TX police.

Is it illegal to ride a bicycle home after going to a bar and getting dunk?

i live in az and i just want to know if you can ride a bike home after drinking? it seems to me that this would be a great way to not get a dui!Is it illegal to ride a bicycle home after going to a bar and getting dunk?
Arizona Law (A.R.S. 搂 28-812) "Applicability of traffic laws to bicycle riders"

A person riding a bike on a road or road shoulder is granted all of the rights and is subject to all of the duties applicable to drivers of a vehicle.

You can be cited for DUI and have your driver's license suspended.

You are most likely to kill yourself rather than someone else. I say go ride your bicycle and leave your car safely parked. To avoid a DUI, take a cab.

As cat in a hat said, in Washington State it is not a DUI. Driving Under the Influence refers to operating a motor vehicle while affected by alcohol, drugs, or both.

However, in Arizona, you can be cited for DUI and lose your drivers license.
Yep....If they stay on the sidewalk they will prob be fine but in the street is another storyIs it illegal to ride a bicycle home after going to a bar and getting dunk?
    hell no it's not
yessIs it illegal to ride a bicycle home after going to a bar and getting dunk?
    Oh god i hope not...
    No
Ya sure whatever makes you happy.
You might still get a DUI. People have gotten DUI's on horses, lawnmowers, bikes, and wheelchairs.
probably not, as long as you dont bump into any cars. if you're drunk, you'll probably have trouble balancing..so yeah....
Nah, its stupid isnt it. if yu get caught riding a bike drunk, you can even lose your car liscence
Technically it's not a driving is it. I'm sure legally it would be OK.. Then again I've never tried it XD.

But still riding a bike home drunk is a stupid idea. Fun! -- but stupid.
my friend had a bad fall once doing that....it is best to walk...rather stumble home...
In some states it is, in other states it's not. Some specify that it has to be a motorized vehicle; others don't.

Fact: George Jones (the singer) was once arrested in Tennessee for driving his lawnmower while drunk.
You can actually still get something similar to a dui or dwi while on a bicycle, since riding while intoxicated you can be a danger to yourself or others.
Illegal to ride %26amp; drive if your drunk.

Would be best to catch a cab or let someone (who has'nt drunk) to drive you home.

    Regards
No ... until you knock someone.
i saw on tv some guy in america got arrested after driving a bicycle while drunk.

i think you can get arrested for reckless driving but you wont get a D.U.I
I think you can see if there are any on-line AA meetings %26amp; someone could tell you or call your local library or police station %26amp; find out if the laws that apply to a car apply to bike riding %26amp; if they are enforced. If you are publically intoxiacated that might be illegal even if you are walking so I think it is illegal.
If you are drunk and riding a bike in the UK you (I think) will get 3 points on your drivers license and a fine. pretty harsh in my opinion but I guess you could cause an accident on the road if that is where you are riding you bike.
It is still consider a DUI
In Fl. You can get a dui or a dwi. They seem to target the homeless more than anyone else.
Depends on the wording of your state law. Some laws state "motorized vehicle", so a bicycle would skate by. Other laws state, "wheeled vehicle", so a bicycle would be eligible. Other laws state, "a mode of transportation", so you get tagged on the bike or your horse.

Most likely, you would get nailed for Public Intoxication.
If you were riding a bicycleyou were not drunk.

someone told me i can use http://www.buy.com/prod/garden-zone-pvc-coated-hardware-cloth-24-i-green-1-2-inch-272405/q/listingid/49303523/loc/66357/211158319.html(Garden Zone Pvc Coated Hardware Cloth 24 I Green 1 2 Inch) But as you can see it kinda expensive just for a roll. CAN ANYONE THINK OF ANOTHER WAY TO CLOSE OF THE GAPS?I bought a Deluxe My First Home Multi-Floor for my pet rat but the space between the bars is too big..?
The best thing I can think of is wrap it with the pvc coated hardware cloth and use some clamps or wire ties to hold it on. That is kind of expensive on that site, but you can find it at most hardware stores for cheaper.

Maybe you could try attaching a regular screen? I don't know how effective that would be though. It might get chewed through.

Also, the galvanized hardware cloth is much cheaper than the pvc coated cloth, but it's known to rust and it's harder to clean. I had a homemade rat cage with galvanized cloth and it took 2 years to start to rust. So you might give that a try. However some people say that it's not good for rats. Just watch out for rust and get rid of it when you do see rust.

Is it right for me to say ok to my husband to go to the titty bars. while i get stuck at home with kids.?

Ok here is the thing my husband doesn't go out that often like he used to but when he does his choice to go out is straight to ricks or any bar like that here. i have had friends tell me that im too gullible and that i shouldn't allow him to go out to these places ... well in my mind yeah he is a grown man he can do what he wants but then i think well he is married to me for 9 years with 2 kids and instead of staying home and spending time with us he goes out to these places i don't mind him going out but can he do something besides that. when he goes out to places like this i feel depressed severely and i don't even want to be near him when he comes home cuz one its like 2 or 3 in the morning and two in my eyes that nasty its like going to screw and ex and then come home and screw your man. so tell me am i doing the right thing in letting him go please helpIs it right for me to say ok to my husband to go to the titty bars. while i get stuck at home with kids.?
get rid of him! that is unacceptable!

as long as you have expressed your feelings about what he's doing and he is ignoring you and doesn't care if he hurts you, he deserves to be kicked to the curb.
Completely reasonable! Is it right for me to say ok to my husband to go to the titty bars. while i get stuck at home with kids.?
I've been with my fiance for 7 years and in no way shape or form is he allowed to go to those places. Sure he goes out once in awhile to the bar with friends or to a sporting event. I put my foot down and said if you want to through money at a girl it better be me! lol
Yes. Plain and simple. The day some chick tells me what to do is the day shes out the door.Is it right for me to say ok to my husband to go to the titty bars. while i get stuck at home with kids.?
As a teen Chuck Norris impregnated every nun in a convent tucked away in the hills of Tuscany. Nine months later the nuns gave birth to the 1972 Miami Dolphins, the only undefeated and untied team in professional football history.
It doesn't matter what you say ,he's already going to those places!

Those places are open at 12 noon!
Here's the thing... you can "allow" him to go and know where he is or you can tell him he can't go and have him lie to you.

Make sure you get out with your friends every once and awhile. And remember, he's not screwing anybody and he is coming home to you. Try not to let it get you down.
Talk to him, tell him how this bothers you and how it makes you feel. If he needs time to unwind then fine , but let him know there are other things that he can do. He could try something different maybe with you and the kids. Not ALL men are the same, there are some that would still choose a night with there family over the bar.
Your missing a opportunity to have fun with your husband. Hire a babysitter, or call on grandma to watch the kids. Then put on your sexiest outfit and go to the strip club with your husband. Every once in a while walk up to the stage with a dollar and let the strippers dance for you. The strippers love it, it gets the crowd into it, and it will make you husband proud and horny. Good luck and have fun.
You have been allowing him to do it for 9 years. It's kinda late now to say anything. Don't you think. You are just going to have to put your foot down and say enough is enough. Stop going to the titty bars or pack your things and get the "F" out.
Its ok so long as you get to go out sometimes too, and if he doesn't go too often (like once or twice a month at most). Really its nothing like going to screw an ex, its more like watching some porn just closer and live.
Explain to him how it makes you feel, maybe he does not realize that it bothers you because you've never told him. I wouldn't like my husband going to those types of bars and he knows it. To me it is all a matter of respect if something bothers your spouse you try not to do it and respect their feelings especially if it is something that is not of great importance to him. Good Luck.
After 15 yrs of being married to the same Women and two kids, we have a pretty good understanding about going out. She told me the reason she lets me go is because she Trust me. The money thing is one issue, but knowing that he is coming home to you is what should matter. My wife prefers to go with me, but thats her. I usually swap nites with her. She goes out during the week and I'll go out on the weekend. If she goes out on the weekend, then I'll take the kids to see a movie or something. A lot will depend on security in your marriage. My wife said likes it, because it has opened up new areas of our relationship. You really should talk to him about though. He is the one you married.
No your husband should of gone there before ya got marry that is no place for a marry man talk to him and let him know how u feel.
You shouldn't tell him it is fine if it bothers you.

If what is bothering you is not having reciprocal time for yourself then honesty is the best policy
If he wants to go to a strip club say once a week or once every few weeks then that is ok. Just make it clear to him that you want him to go to a NICE strip club. The ones that charge more money usually have stricter rules. There are some real nasty strip clubs out there, so I have been told by my ex BF. You don't want him going to the nasty ones because they will perform sexual acts for money at the trashy clubs.

You should go out with friends once a week alone too. Once a week he needs to stay home with the kids for you to go out and vice versa. Seriously ask which clubs he goes to and do some research on what those clubs are like. And really stress that he is only allowed to go to the classier pricer clubs.

Bars is by far the hardest event for me too. I try to do these things to help me:

-Listen to the coach, do everything they tell you

-Do NOT let fear get in your way

-Arm strengthening, do lots of arm conditioning

I guess you could condition at home, or buy a bars set, but that's expensive, just work hard at practice, ask your coach for at home or in practice drills you can do:)How do i get better at bars- gymnastics?

What is decent wood to construct stretcher bars?

    Hi,

I need to construct my own stretcher bars and cross bar for a canvas. The size would be either 24x30 or 24x36 inches. Does anyone know what dimensions and kind of wood I would purchase from say Lowes or Home Depot? What is decent wood to construct stretcher bars?
Fir is the best type of wood; it doesn't have knots and it does not warp as badly as pine. When I was a painting student we were required to make our own stretchers. Now I think everyone who paints should at least know how it's done. To make the stretcher frame use 1"X 2" strips of fir. Glue and then nail 1/4 round molding on top, that will keep the canvas from touching the frame. Measure and cut at 45 degree angles and attach with glue and corrugated fasteners. Use braces in the corners for larger frames. Roll the canvas out on the floor and place the frame on it with the 1/4 round side down. Use a staple gun to attach the canvas to the back starting in the middle of each side and working your way to the corners. If it is not tight as a drum pour hot water over it. Traditionally you would then size it with rabbit-skin glue before priming but its OK just to prime with gesso. What is decent wood to construct stretcher bars?
A softwood is good. Pine or spruce.

If you take a cab home from a bar will they tow your car?

If they do how long do you have to pick it up?If you take a cab home from a bar will they tow your car?
i would think it depends on the establishment. some may have signs posted about parking/towing. if you plan on going to a bar before you get that drunk may be a good idea to ask the bartender...but a lot of times, if you are that drunk and tell the bartender you are to drunk to drive can they call you a cab they will. just tell them your car is in the lot and you will pick it up in the morning when you wake up. i woudnt leave it there more then the day.
Every bar is different. If you are parked in their lot, they probably have their own rules. I would ask at the bar. But yes, most of them tow you if left overnight. At least if the bar is in a city. And if you are parked on a street, you might get towed as well, depending on the city laws.

When all else fails, take public transportation to the bar and you won't have to worry about this.If you take a cab home from a bar will they tow your car?
Towing it away depends upon where you have it parked. Every towing company charges a fee for the towing, plus a daily fee for storage. It isn't cheap. They'll keep it as long as you can afford to let them. They'll just get more money from you.
Some call a cab with 2 drivers so one can drive behind the cab to your home.If you take a cab home from a bar will they tow your car?
I agree with just ask/tell the club owner you can't drive home. It might be a good idea to tip him or the "doorman" $20 or thereabouts to "watch your car" until they close up. If you can't make other arrangements (calling a buddy to come and drive your car home), the club will not be responsible if someone breaks in your car overnight. Be sure not to leave anything visible inside the car. Maybe you should drive in your banged-up old 1997 Toyota, not the brand new Lexus. LOL

How can I find spell check on the 1 st home page tool bar at the top? ?

I have asked this question many times no one gives me back the correct answer... When yahoo applied the new undated home page you y removed spell check. An answer that came back was why do you need spell check on the yahoo home page. Like now I would hit spell check and make sure all these words are spelled correctly. How do I get spell check back on the top of this page???How can I find spell check on the 1 st home page tool bar at the top? ?
That's because you are confusing people with the terminology home page toolbar. The spell check application is usually built-in to the browser, email application or via a toolbar and usually has nothing to do with the home page. If you set your homepage to Y! answers, then in this particular case, the web application Y! answers has a spell check built-in. To clarify, Y! has a spell check for their email but no spell check on the toolbar. Internet Explorer does not have a built-in spell check. People usually use Google toolbar, IEspell, IE7Pro etc. Y! answers has a spell check built-in. And again (beating a dead horse to death), the yahoo.com homepage changes have nothing to do with spell check.

Should my christian boyfriend be hanging out in bars and leaving me and the kids at home.?

I have a real problem with my boyfriend going to bars. We have been together for almost 6 years and before he accepted the lord he was at the bars a lot. It has definately gotten better. My problem is in the past he has hurt me by going out so much and I always heard rumurs. I never found any of them to be true, but they are always in the back of my head. I don't think he should leave his family to go out to the bars. I need some advice. In my eyes bars are for single people looking to hook up.Should my christian boyfriend be hanging out in bars and leaving me and the kids at home.?
he shouldn't be at the bar. he should be with you and the kids.
he should definitly stay with the family and spend time with you...spending time with the kids is very importantShould my christian boyfriend be hanging out in bars and leaving me and the kids at home.?
Unless he's going to the bars to drink water and speak Gods word....he shouldn't be there. Plain and simple.....
Perhaps he is looking for a hook up; time for you guys to have a heart to heart talk.Should my christian boyfriend be hanging out in bars and leaving me and the kids at home.?
Perhaps a talk with your pastor would be appropriate. On the surface I agree with the others here that he should not be going to bars. Addictions are a hard thing to conquer even as a Christian with the Lord's help. Encourage him to talk with a male friend in church (mature in the Lord). Encourage him to participate in Promise Keepers (that has changed many a man's life). Get him New Man magazine (Christian magazine for men). Check out the resources from Focus on the Family (family.org). Of course, the most important thing for you to do is to pray for him and pray together. If your relationship is based on God and you are both trying to live for God with all that implies, God can work miracles in his life. We're with you--expect God to work a miracle--He does!!
first thing if your both are christians you should think about getting married its a sin to be living together and not be married. and i thing you both should go and talk to your pastor about your bf going to bars maybe he can help your bf.
Anyone have a problem with a Christian having pre-marital sex?? Sorry, didn't mean any offense but you did make an effort to point out 'Christian' and what exactly makes one sin greater than the other? If he can sex without being married then why can't he go to a bar?

Maybe the question you should be asking is "Should I stay with my boyfriend who claims to be a Christian but will not marry me?" From your post I am assuming that the children are both yours and his, you mentioned that you have been together for 6 years, playing "house"??? It's fun to play married but not actually be married?

What are the liquor laws in Portland regarding minors performing as musicians in bars?

My band is looking to move to Portland in the next few years, but several of us still have yet to turn 21. In Alaska, our home state, it is illegal for anyone under 21 to play in a bar without the presence of their parent or guardian. We are all over 18...would it be possible for us to book shows at bars in Portland without our parents present? What are the liquor laws in Portland regarding minors performing as musicians in bars?
In some establishments, they have 'underage hours' which means minors can be on premises until 9 PM. After 9 it become an over 21 scene only. But there are very few popular places with underage hours.

Great simple recipe. After this recipe there is one for the homemade granola, but I've also just bought some honey flavored simply naked granola and that works just as well. To add chocolate to these bars. After they are finished being made put melt 4 tbs of butter and then 4oz of your favorite chocolate in the microwave. Then put a cooling rack in a cookie sheet lined with parchment and place the bars on the rack. pour the chocolate on top and the catched drippings can be remelted until all the bars are coated!

How do you get proper froth in milk from a steam spout on your average coffee maker at home.?

I'm trying to get the great level of froth you get at the coffee bars from my small coffee maker at home. The steam spout at the coffee bars doesn't look any different, but all I manage to get is a small level of froth. I've tried tipping the container to one side, but it just seems that when the milk is heated all the way through I just get a volcano action going on i.e. milk starts flying everywhere. How do you get proper froth in milk from a steam spout on your average coffee maker at home.?
The trick is to start with cold milk - once it boiled you won't get any froth.

Fill your jug (at least 1 1/2 pint size) about half way and hold it so the tip of the steamer spout is just under the surface of the milk, and against the edge of the jug. Hold the jug at an angle of approx 30 degrees with the steamer tip against the side of the jug that's facing down (not the handle side)

Turn on the steam making sure it doesn't splash and gently rock the jug as you create the froth on the surface of the milk. Again, make sure it doesn't get too hot or you'll not get any froth.

I hope this makes sense, good luck and don't forget to top your cappuccino with a little sprinkle of chocolate!
funny you ask this as i bought a coffee machine yesturday .

The milk frothed in a cafe normally is steam heated which froths it i didnt need a high priced coffee maker that had a steamer but mine heats the milk from the hotplate and then you lift the jug up to a frother.

when you have heated the milk put the steamer/frother just below the level of milk that should work .

Had 3 milky coffees since yesturday lol i Love them!! kids 2 hot chocolates oh must get some fresh on now ...How do you get proper froth in milk from a steam spout on your average coffee maker at home.?
EASY ! Notice they only use a METAL cup to do it ? also the lower the fat content, the higher the milk will rise when steamed, (use low fat milk %26amp; a metal cup when you slowly add the steam, then bring up the steam when she starts to boil).
Get one of the little battery operated frothers! Available from Whittard, they're great and easy to use. I use it for my hot chocolate and it works a treat!

    Check this out!

http://www.whittard.co.uk/ProductDetails鈥?/a>How do you get proper froth in milk from a steam spout on your average coffee maker at home.?
Start with cold whole milk, fill the pitcher about a third of the way, and tipping it at an angle start slowly moving the pitcher up and down. Make sure the steam wand doesn't get too submerged or completely taken out of the milk when moving the pitcher up and down. You should generally stop when the milk gets heated to 140 degrees, any more and your milk will get too much steam.

How can I make a bar converted from a 2-car garage into added square footage for my home?

We bought our home 2 years ago. The appraiser would not count this beautiful bar that was converted from a 2 car garage (inside our walk-out basement). Is it because there's no plumbing fixtures, is it because there's no heat or air directly blowing into the bar? It really doesn't need air, it's always cool, even in the summer. What would be the least expensive way to get this room added to the appraised square footage of our home? How can I make a bar converted from a 2-car garage into added square footage for my home?
I think this is largely up to the discretion of the appraiser. You should ask them why they won't consider it living space or what you would have to do to make it living space. I would say, it has to be permanently made to living space. for example, remove garage doors and frame in solid wall there. make adequate heating down there, insulate properly, have fully finished walls etc.How can I make a bar converted from a 2-car garage into added square footage for my home?
It could simply be where you purchased your home. I believe it is all about the state laws....not sure mind you, but I previously lived in Colorado and "finished" basement space would be counted into the square footage. Where I live now in Iowa, that square footage is not included as part of the overall space. Hope that helps. How can I make a bar converted from a 2-car garage into added square footage for my home?
It is not at the discretion of the appraiser. If you have heat and AC in the rest of the house, then it needs to be in that room also.

They're laced with sedatives to knock you out so he can try on the panties and bras you're keeping from him.
Do you have diabeetus? He might be trying to claim you killed yourself.

maybe, just because he puts them there doesn't mean you have to eat them. You should just keep them in a drawer, or refuse, tell him your in charge of your body,

I think you should eat the Kit-cats but not the Thingamajigs and the Whatchamacallits. That's how much it matters. Think for your self.

For those of you over 21 living at home?

Well it is summer time and I am living at home with my family but I want to drink. Problem is I am not sure if my parents know that I drink, and I think I would feel weird in general even if they did; I'm not sure if I could drink at my house with them around. Also, my 16 year old brother (who knows I drink) and my 11 year old sister (who doesn't) are always home too.

Anyone have the same problem? Legally able to drink at their apartment, but can't in their own home due to feeling strange? Other than go to bars or something, what would you guys do?For those of you over 21 living at home?
You are 21 and you are legally allowed to drink, you are not restricted to the "if they smell it rules". Now act like an adult and talk to your parents as fellow adults and tell them you enjoy an occassional drink and you would like to drink at home. They will let you know if they have a problem with alcohol in their home, but point is you will have established something new with them.....you are all adults now and can communicate on that level.

Btw I moved back in with my parents at 21 for a short time and we often shared the cost of beer or liquor, I really enjoyed those few months that I was back home, it really gave me a chance to get to know my parents as people and not just parents.

Side note I hope you were refering to light/occasional drinking and not drinking for the purpose of being drunk.
Perhaps it would be awkward the first time to bring alcohol into the house when they have never seen you drink before, so why not move it to a neutral playing field. invite them to dinner, your treat. after dinner when the waitress asks about dessert or anything, order yourself a small cordial or digestif and look for their reaction. For those of you over 21 living at home?
to show responsibility, get a six and make it last at LEAST 2 nights........share one with dad!!!!!!!!!

You are 21, be responsible about it and enjoy a beer or two at home.......best to drink at home because now you are saying that HEY, I WANT A FEW BEERS AND DON'T WANT TO DRIVE DRUNK! ....

My father said to me when I was 17 and got my license that if I want to drink, do it at home....for just that reason of driving: 1 beer can make all the world of difference if you were to get into an accident.
Depends what you mean by drink. If you want to relax, and maybe grab some beers with a meal, or while watching a game, having a BBQ, etc, that should be fine. But if you're talking about getting drunk as all hell or anything crazy like that, then obviously home with kids around isn't the place for it. If you're just going to be hanging out, then ask your parents. If you go to bars, I'm sure they assume you drink. Ask if they would mind if you brought some beers home, and if they do, you could always get a mini fridge in your room, and keep them there, so they don't worry about the younger siblings taking them or something if that's an issue. I never had this problem, but I'm sure if you just talk to them, they will let you know where they stand. For those of you over 21 living at home?
simply..move out..or hell, go to the bar with your folks..

you can even talk to your folks about it and see what they think

you shouldn't subject your siblings to that type of environment....drinking and getting drunk..personallly
Get one of those apartment size fridges for your room, and keep your beer in there
I just moved in with my grandfather and when I want a drink to relax or have a few friends over for some drinks, I pop out the bottles....I usually keep my liquor in my room and I keep the beer in the fridge...I'm of legal age to drink so I will...

I lived at home with my parents even before I was 21 and drank liquor there....

The way I see it is or at least my parents say...its better knowing that I was drinking at home and not out at a bar with risks of something happening to me or behind the wheel driving....

I do have the respect for my grandfather however, not to get totally plastered and puke my brains out...
Ok, now for a view from a parent with a 21 year old living at home who has a 16 and 19 year old siblings. First, do your parents drink? If they don't, then you should respect their choice and not drink at home. My daughter is allowed to drink at home. She's been allowed to drink since she was 18. I wanted to make sure she learned how to drink responsibly. The 19 year old is allowed a drink once in a while. I know the 16 year old has "tasted" her sister's drink on occasion. It's not a big deal. If they know they can do it openly in front of me, then there's no reason to sneak around.

The legal drinking age was 18 when I was a kid. Since I drink, I would be a hypocrite if I didn't allow her to drink. My only rule is : if she has friends over and they drink too much, they have to spend the night.

Talk to your parents. You might be surprised.
I'm 26, and live with my mom. At first u might feels strange when u drink or even smoking in front of ur parents. But I did it, I felt weird at first. It's normal coz it's the first time to do something "Legal Above 21" in front of ur parents. Both sides (you n ur parents) should understand that u're over 21. U are able to drink, go to a nightclub, or do whatever responsible-decision that u made.

I don't like to go to the bars too, I like to sit down, relax n enjoy my drinks with friends or family. Not in a crowded, loud music and smokey environment.

At first u could try to drink cocktails with ur parents when there's an event (BBQ or b'day party), or maybe light beer or white wine. U could say, oh, this is good, I like it. I think ur parents should understand. Then u could slowly continue to drink (responsibly) whatever n whenever u want.

Despite ur brother or sister, they would be in ur stage when they get older, so u should give them an understandable reason.

My mother doesn't mind if I drink (responsibly), now she gets used to it, but she hate it when I smoke (of course!! ;p )
There is a difference between being 21+ and still living at home, and being 21+, living at home, and there being younger siblings in the house.

I am a pretty permissive parent of an only child who is age 21. I do not mind my daughter drinking alcohol, provided she follows the house rules that have applied all along, which would be:

    1. Do it responsibly. Know your limits. A buzz is fine, totally drunk isn't.

    2. Don't make me worry about you.

    3. Don't make a mess.

    4. Don't break anything.

But as she is an only child, there are less rules than there would be if she wasn't. If she had younger siblings, there would be a few rules that would over-rule the drinking ones, no matter what age she is, as long as she is living in the same house with them:

    1. Set a good example.

    2. Don't do anything you wouldn't want them doing.

You are older than your brother %26amp; sister, and as such, they look up to you and will follow your example. They will not take your age in account when doing so. Unless you want your brother %26amp; sister thinking it is ok for them to do as you do...right now...then don't do it around them.

There is also something else to consider:

There is no such thing as legally old enough to do something in your own home, if that home is your parents home.

The key words are 'your own home', which in this case it isn't...it's their home. Which means no matter how old you are, even when you are 50, their rules over-rule legal age law.

This is the case with anybody's home. You wouldn't think that just because you are over 18 that you could light up and smoke in your nonsmoking friend's house, knowing she objected to it, would you? Of course not...it's her house, her rules.

If you don't like this, there is always a way around it. Since you are an adult now, and legally old enough to do adult things like drinking, you are also old enough to take full responsibility for yourself. Part of that is taking care of yourself and getting your own place.

If you are not grown up enough to take this step, then you will have to live by someone else's rules till you can.

In the end, it would be best to talk to your parents about the issue and hear what their feelings and considerations are.

Why are those who frequent strip bars allowed to drive home.We all know they are drinking at those morally,?

offending establishments. Why are those who frequent strip bars allowed to drive home.We all know they are drinking at those morally,?
Why is any person attending any nightclub or bar where alocohol is served allowed to drive home?
Because they spent all thier money and booze and strippers and can't afford a motel room to sleep it off.Why are those who frequent strip bars allowed to drive home.We all know they are drinking at those morally,?
Because drinking and and then driving is legal. Being drunk and driving is illegal.
Now I have a picture in my mind of strip clubs being the Hotel California of song "You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave". Thousands of dudes (and some ladies) from across the land disappearing from their homes and jobs because they went into a strip club, had a couple of beers - then could NEVER LEAVE!!!!Why are those who frequent strip bars allowed to drive home.We all know they are drinking at those morally,?
Some of them just serve non-alcoholic beverages.
Why would they go there in the first place? Im an Atheist but, i wouldnt like my man going there.
No one takes drinking and driving seriously until a child鈥檚 brains are splattered on the highway.
As long as their blood alcohol is not above the legal limit, there is little the authorities can do. Besides, not everyone who goes to a strip joint drinks. Believe it or not, a lot of the guys go to see naked women!

    .
why would any one go there in the first place??

and what of the poor women that work in such places? many of them are forced by others do to that sort of work...
    Which one was morally offending?

In some counties, including the one I'm in, they are not allowed to serve alcohol at full nude clubs. So I guess the problem is being addressed.
Morally offending? To who? I've worked at a couple of strip clubs, and I'll tell ya this. The patrons are not perverts or sick. They are just looking for a good time. Just like patrons of any other bar/club. Are you suggesting a higher or harsher penalty for strip club patrons? And who would set those standards? Spare us the morality lessons. Just wondering, by the way, when did women's breasts become offensive? Ahhh, did you lose a bunch of money at a club one night?

How to fix hand calisus/rips from gymnastic bars?

I do gymnastics bars and I come home from gymnastics with my hands ripped up with white calisus! I do bars once a week, and my hands stay sore all week. It's not severe enough to go to a doctor, but something needs to be done to it! I purchased grips (leather things you put on your hands to help you slide) but they are too big right now. I use chalk, but it doesn't work very well. Any remedys? Water soaking strategies? HELP!!!! Anything! How to fix hand calisus/rips from gymnastic bars?
First, when not in the gym, keep your hands clean. Calisuses that split open can become infected. My hands were rough and calused from rowing each morning along the river. The wooden oar would pull and pull. In college, the horse and bar both pulled at my hands at the base of my fingers. As a rock climber, my hands become scraped now and then. Avoiding infection is top priority because it will stop your routine dramatically.

Second, you develop a calus because of friction that is "cooking" your skin into a tougher, flat pad. This friction is almost unavoidable, because it's also what gives you grip. A bit more chalk may allow for some slip, but of couse don't lose your grip.

That said, you may simply need to give your hands some time to heal. Like a pair of shoes, your skin will adjust to the wear they encounter. If you want to see the most incredible example of this, ask a commercial sailor/fisherman. Their hands are like gnarled rocks. If possible, just wait an extra day and do a workout that doesn't involve hands. When not on the bar, I went diving or did floor routines. It's not the same, but it'll give you a nice workout while you wait. How to fix hand calisus/rips from gymnastic bars?
Don't do anything to them unless they are very painful. If you just don't want them there, then don't mess with them. There is nothing to make them go away, and they will keep coming until you get used to it. Your skin adjusts, and eventually those calluses will help you on the bars, when they aren't so painful. BUT, for now, soak your hand in some warm water and rub it will pumice stone to get off the skin (its dead). Don't cut or peel the calluses off, that makes it worse and hurts so much. Hope your hands feel better eventually, you may want to find some grips that fit properly. Good luck!

  • Do I need a special license if I just want to use my car to drive drunk people home from the bar?

It would be like on a Wednesday, and the weekend.Do I need a special license if I just want to use my car to drive drunk people home from the bar?
I don't know what the law is like where you are. I live in the UK and you would definitely need special insurance. I know this because I run a few university sports clubs and if we are going anywhere and claiming back fuel allowance, then we need business insurance.

Since we are not making money on this and we need to take out special insurance, then I assume that if you are running your car as a taxi then you would need special cover. Check your insurance as it will say what it covers.

For example, my motorbike insurance says: Use for social, domestic and pleasure purposes including use by the policyholder in person for travelling to and from a permanent place of work/business but excluding use for the purpose of any profession, trade, business, employment, despatch, courier, messenger or food delivery services.

I would check with your insurance company, otherwise if you have an accident or someone claims to have been injured while you were driving them home (with drunk people and today's litigation society you never know) then your insurance may not pay out. I view insurance companies as a necessary evil. They are necessary and they are evil. If they can find an excuse not to pay out, they won't.
Like taxi?.....YESDo I need a special license if I just want to use my car to drive drunk people home from the bar?
As long as they aren't paying you, then it's not a business and you don't need a commercial license.
What a question. There are no special licenses for designated drivers. Sorry. You will have to pay insurance and have a license on a normal, everyday vehicle. Do I need a special license if I just want to use my car to drive drunk people home from the bar?
    No.
If you are charging a fee, you need a special license such as a taxi license. You also need to inform your insurance company since you are now driving a commercial vehicle for hire. Charging a fee allows any passengers the right to sue you for injuries if you have an accident.
You would need a Commercial Drivers License with the passenger, then you would need a car or van that is registered as a commercial vehicle and you would have to register it through P.U.C.O. because you would have to file a quarterly fuel tax with the IRS. You would have to keep track of all your miles, fuel, repairs and on and on and on. all just to drive drunks home for a couple bucks......

How often do rats eat candy bars?

I cannot tell if this deliceous candy bar i just purchased from the store has been opened by rats, or torn from the ride home.

its one of those huge hershey bars you know.

rats like candy bars, especially solid chocolate,........ take the candy to a forensic scientist and get his take on the teeth marks.......betcha its a RATHow often do rats eat candy bars?
    rats cant open candy bars

the chocolate was probably melted and cooled as well as beaten up
ratsHow often do rats eat candy bars?
Take a knife and cut that part off. I don't know about rats, but as a child I used to stay up late at night and try to feed my Halloween candy to mice.
As often as they can get to the store with their money. Haha, but really, I'd return the candy to the store and get a replacement that's intact. You just never know what's happened. No need to eat garbage.
RATS CAN CHEW THROUGH SOLID PLASTIC yet someone says they can't OPEN a candy bar. How utterly ridiculous is that?! I wouldn't trust it. Rats can carry all sorts of disease. Take it back - get a replacement, and check it out very closely before leaving the store.
I don't think a rat will have touched your candy bar, maybe it was damaged somehow after you bought it or it was damaged before you bought it. If a rat tried to eat it, it would've torn through the paper.
take it back for a replacement
If a rat got into your candybar, you'll probably be able to tell where it nibbled on it. They have two large front teeth.

O_o if so, then sorry for your loss.

It's probably safer just to rip off that bit, or toss the whole thing.
Rats will eat ANYTHING except Far Left Wing ACLU Adoring Liberal Democrats ... they are a bit picky about that.
Rats eat anything they can get their hands on so 99% of the time its probably the rats uhhhh
rats eat almost everything. how often they feed I don,t know. But some stores do have rats, even fast food , etc...

Is it bad for someone practising pointe at home when they are only on their first pair of pointe shoes?

Ahh, my q. doesnt really make sense...do you think its bad practising at the bar on home when you have just started pointe?

thanks :)Is it bad for someone practising pointe at home when they are only on their first pair of pointe shoes?
yes actually! with my first pair of pointe shoes i did that and they became dead within 5 classes! my mom got really mad!
Yes, extremely. Until your technique is more solid and you have more experience self correcting while en pointe you should keep your pointe time to class. Barre work is always beneficial, but at the beginning of pointe work the likelihood of developing improper form, bad habits or injury is just to high to risk IMO. In addition, depending on your age and bone development, too much time en pointe can damage the structure of your foot. If you really want to practice at home, speak with you instructor and get a specific set of exercises that they are confident you can perform with proper technique and without any higher risk of injury. Is it bad for someone practising pointe at home when they are only on their first pair of pointe shoes?
That depends on how long you are doing it and when - and how many ballet classes you are taking. You need to be very careful with your feet when you are just starting out en pointe; bad habits that you pick up now can cause you endless problems later on (or even, like me, end your career with a preventable injury). You should speak to your ballet teacher (or, if she's too busy, the ballet mistress at your school) about your desire to practice at home as well as at class and get some guidelines.

In general, when you are first starting out, it is a bad idea to go en pointe without proper supervision (there's a reason beginner en pointe classes are so small!), but there are plenty of things you can do at home to strengthen your feet, ankles and core to make your short time en pointe in class easier and more fun.

(And of course, I am assuming that you are older than 15, or you've been to see your doctor about going en pointe to make sure that your feet are mature enough to support you. . .this is a very important step. . .going 'up' too soon can do permanent damage to the bone structure of your feet, which makes them ugly and very painful when you're older)
well i disagree i reaceantly just got pointe shoes and my teacher told me to wear thenm every day and practice at home

this teacher also attended julliard and used to be a teacher theirs so i think he knows what he talking about but thats just me advice do as you pleaseIs it bad for someone practising pointe at home when they are only on their first pair of pointe shoes?
no, it is not bad, but it depends on the sitation. do you take dance classes? because if not, than that is not good to teach yourself, you could get really hurt without training. it also depends on how long you have been dancing. i have been dancing since i was three, but u have to build up the strenght for pointshoes. also, in your dance class teachers will tell you to practice outside of class. this is so that when you go to class you will not be weak beacsue you have not gone on them all week. my teachers do tell us to waer them for 20 minute minimum each day. also it depends on how old you are becasue your feet are not srong enough or are ready for that kind of dancing until a sertain age. it really does depend on all of those factors, and your situation. you sould talk to your dance teachers, and if your not in a class, i suggest taking on up.

Can i bar one particular number that keeps calling my home?

It`s a company that calls on an 0800 number, they call my home at least twice a day. I have spoken to them before but it is my son they want, he has an unsettled debt i think. I told them he isn`t available on this number but they keep calling. My phone line is BT and i`m on TPS, which doesn`t bar companies from calling if you have given them the number, which my son obviously did.Can i bar one particular number that keeps calling my home?
Starlet has given you slightly incorrect information there.....Yes if you are with BT you can have a service called Choose To Refuse..... This can block up to 10 numbers at once from calling you (whether number withheld or not).....

It's is Free for a 1 month trial and then if required longer it's 10.05/quarter which is 3.35/month...

The service that I think Starlet is talking about is called Anonymous Call Rejection which is 12/quarter - NOT a month(just #4/ month) - this blocks any withheld number from calling you not just specific numbers.

    Hope helps!
BT do a service called 'choose to refuse' where you can select up to 12 numbers to barr. However they charge around 拢12 per month for this xxCan i bar one particular number that keeps calling my home?
Phone BT. They can ban particular numbers and don't charge for services to customers being pestered by nuisance callers under their 'privacy' policy. This also works for 'caller display'.

Also get your number registered with the Telephone Preference Service as it stops all of those annoying sales calls that start just as you are sitting down to eat in the evenings. It makes it illegal for cold callers to hold your number on their databases or to sell it on to other pests.

It's all automatic and the instructions are in the BT telephone directory. And it's FREE!

If someone has 'legitimately' given them your number, ask BT for a new number and that one will be protected by the TPS.
One option is to instal a telephone answering machine and only take calls from numbers you recognise, leaving the nuisance calls to the machine. Many machines can be set to give an outgoing answer-only message then hang up, instead of recording a message. You should tell them on the next call that if they don't cease and desist, you will treat their calls as nuisance calls and make a formal report to the authorities. Make sure you keep a record of dates and times.

It may be a little late in this case, but you can get yourself a 'personal number' from websites such as YAC.com. These are numbers that look a bit like mobile phone numbers (starting 07xxx), but you can set them (via a web page you log in to) to ring on any telephone you choose, landline or mobile. They have a facility where you can make a list of certain calling numbers which are to be directed straight to a message service, leaving others to be connected in the usual way. These numbers are free to obtain and use, it is the caller who pays a premium to call them. You can then hand this number out to people whom you don't want to have your 'real' number. Can i bar one particular number that keeps calling my home?
I have this problem too. If you have caller display and you recognise the number, then just don't answer it!
further to an earlier answer, you can trial choose to refuse for a month free of charge, just need to call back to cancel before it becomes chargeable. and tps only stops sales/marketing calls not legit calls like this.

We found a budgie and have taken it home. What are the next steps we should take?

We need to find an owner and I also need to know on how to make the cage a little bit more entertaining.

Also he tried to escape once we left to put up posters and when we got home hie head was stuck between the bars. How can I prevent this?We found a budgie and have taken it home. What are the next steps we should take?
Hi if he can get his head thru the bars then the cage is too big for him and he is going to end up hurting hisself..So you need to get a different cage for him some birdie toys would keep him entertained.. fresh fruits and vegies rice pasta beans and leafy greens should be included in his diet.. There is a site called Birdsnway it is a lost and found bird site read through the posts and see if someone has posted him there and you post a found bird ad too.. next call your local animal shelter police department and avian vets to see if someone has placed a missing bird report in.. go around your neighborhood and look for lost bird signs ( grocery stores telephone poles ) whomever this little guy belongs too is probably worried sick about him oh also call your local paper and ask if there have been any ads for lost birds placed in thier paper.. remember that bird might be from just around the corner or from miles away maybe call a popular local radio show they would be willing to announce a found bird on thier show for a day or two.. You can also call a bird rescue to see if anyone has called there saying they lost a bird... If you can take care of this little guy till you can find his rightful owner that would be great.. I am sure he is scared to death..Make sure you put out posters and a ad in the paper about a found budgie but don't give too much info you don't want the wrong person coming over just to get a free bird.. Good luck and I hope you can find his human flockWe found a budgie and have taken it home. What are the next steps we should take?
Take it to a vet and get him/her to check if it is sick.

Go to your local breeder and ask of anyone who wants a budgie, see if your breeder knows the gender of the budgie so if the previous owner does find the bird they'll know it's theirs.

With the cage problem i'd say get a gage with bars that are closer together so the budgies head wont get caught.

If you want to keep this budgies cage a little mare exciting put some ladders, ropes or any other toys you can find, this may also help that head catching problem.
