Can i bar one particular number that keeps calling my home?

It`s a company that calls on an 0800 number, they call my home at least twice a day. I have spoken to them before but it is my son they want, he has an unsettled debt i think. I told them he isn`t available on this number but they keep calling. My phone line is BT and i`m on TPS, which doesn`t bar companies from calling if you have given them the number, which my son obviously did.Can i bar one particular number that keeps calling my home?
Starlet has given you slightly incorrect information there.....Yes if you are with BT you can have a service called Choose To Refuse..... This can block up to 10 numbers at once from calling you (whether number withheld or not).....

It's is Free for a 1 month trial and then if required longer it's 10.05/quarter which is 3.35/month...

The service that I think Starlet is talking about is called Anonymous Call Rejection which is 12/quarter - NOT a month(just #4/ month) - this blocks any withheld number from calling you not just specific numbers.

Hope helps!
BT do a service called 'choose to refuse' where you can select up to 12 numbers to barr. However they charge around 拢12 per month for this xxCan i bar one particular number that keeps calling my home?
Phone BT. They can ban particular numbers and don't charge for services to customers being pestered by nuisance callers under their 'privacy' policy. This also works for 'caller display'.

Also get your number registered with the Telephone Preference Service as it stops all of those annoying sales calls that start just as you are sitting down to eat in the evenings. It makes it illegal for cold callers to hold your number on their databases or to sell it on to other pests.

It's all automatic and the instructions are in the BT telephone directory. And it's FREE!

If someone has 'legitimately' given them your number, ask BT for a new number and that one will be protected by the TPS.
One option is to instal a telephone answering machine and only take calls from numbers you recognise, leaving the nuisance calls to the machine. Many machines can be set to give an outgoing answer-only message then hang up, instead of recording a message. You should tell them on the next call that if they don't cease and desist, you will treat their calls as nuisance calls and make a formal report to the authorities. Make sure you keep a record of dates and times.

It may be a little late in this case, but you can get yourself a 'personal number' from websites such as YAC.com. These are numbers that look a bit like mobile phone numbers (starting 07xxx), but you can set them (via a web page you log in to) to ring on any telephone you choose, landline or mobile. They have a facility where you can make a list of certain calling numbers which are to be directed straight to a message service, leaving others to be connected in the usual way. These numbers are free to obtain and use, it is the caller who pays a premium to call them. You can then hand this number out to people whom you don't want to have your 'real' number. Can i bar one particular number that keeps calling my home?
I have this problem too. If you have caller display and you recognise the number, then just don't answer it!
further to an earlier answer, you can trial choose to refuse for a month free of charge, just need to call back to cancel before it becomes chargeable. and tps only stops sales/marketing calls not legit calls like this.
