We found a budgie and have taken it home. What are the next steps we should take?

We need to find an owner and I also need to know on how to make the cage a little bit more entertaining.

Also he tried to escape once we left to put up posters and when we got home hie head was stuck between the bars. How can I prevent this?We found a budgie and have taken it home. What are the next steps we should take?
you need to get a cage with bars closer together. They make smaller sizes for the little birds. Just make sure your giving him fresh seed and water every day and keeping his cage clean. Try contacting your local news and see if they will let the public know you have found it, ours will.We found a budgie and have taken it home. What are the next steps we should take?
You need to get a cage meant for budgies; if he can get his head through the bars, it's too big (probably meant for a parrot). For the moment, you might want to put him in a covered, vented cardboard box, so that he doesn't end up choking. As soon as possible, get an appropriate cage, and the right kind of food for budgies. Most seed companies have a good parakeet mix that will be healthy for your new friend. We found a budgie and have taken it home. What are the next steps we should take?
buy a cage that is suitable for a budgie, since they are small birds. they like swings, mirrors, fresh spinach, hard boiled egg cut up, cheese....you can take it and have it's wings clipped, or do it yourself if you know how and it wont be able to fly away. otherwise you need a cage w/ bars closer together.
pluck it. then baste it slowly in an oven of 200 to 220c and serve with vegatables and a plum sauce.
