How often do rats eat candy bars?

I cannot tell if this deliceous candy bar i just purchased from the store has been opened by rats, or torn from the ride home.

its one of those huge hershey bars you know.

the paper isn't at all damaged, but the foil underneath has a tear, and the brush marking on the bar is parallel from top to bottomHow often do rats eat candy bars?

Take a knife and cut that part off. I don't know about rats, but as a child I used to stay up late at night and try to feed my Halloween candy to mice.
As often as they can get to the store with their money. Haha, but really, I'd return the candy to the store and get a replacement that's intact. You just never know what's happened. No need to eat garbage.
RATS CAN CHEW THROUGH SOLID PLASTIC yet someone says they can't OPEN a candy bar. How utterly ridiculous is that?! I wouldn't trust it. Rats can carry all sorts of disease. Take it back - get a replacement, and check it out very closely before leaving the store.
I don't think a rat will have touched your candy bar, maybe it was damaged somehow after you bought it or it was damaged before you bought it. If a rat tried to eat it, it would've torn through the paper.

If a rat got into your candybar, you'll probably be able to tell where it nibbled on it. They have two large front teeth.

It's probably safer just to rip off that bit, or toss the whole thing.
