Simple. 2x4's will be the foundation and plywood will be the outside, with 1 3/4'' screws holding it all together. Measure then screw the 2x4's into a box the shape and size you want your bar, then screw plywood on the top, front, bottom, and sides. Leave the back open. Then you can screw 2x4's around where you want shelves, and stick plywood on top. You can then paint the bar any color you wish it to be. The design is fairly simple, I have used it before and it works very well. You can also use nails, but screws are sturdier.I need FREE easy plans to build a simple home bar, straight bar design.. any help ?
the two by four frame is easy go with screws and wood glue ( extra strong for dancing on the bar ) ,there are all types of harwood plywood's out there that could be used as apposed to painting, you can also find leather . (or vinyl if you are on a budget ) to wrap an arm rest to give it a classier look. The top should stick out past the front by at least 10" or so , and then they have all the brass fixtures for a nice footrest( check out an online place I have used for 25 yr's called Rockler they have all kinds of hardware )I need FREE easy plans to build a simple home bar, straight bar design.. any help ?
Check Craigslist first, you might find one for cheap/free. Otherwise, consider buying "stock" cabinets, screw them together to make your own custom bar. Lastly, make a simple box out of 2x4's then skin it in 1/4" ply, paint it, put a 3/4" ply top on it (or pre-made counter top) and crack a beer!
