We are turning our garage into a game room and have been talking about an easy and fairly inexpensive way to include a bar. We have an old bedroom dresser that we were going to throw/give away but I was thinking maybe we could use it in building a bar. Anyone have any experience or ideas in this type of conversion? Any thoughts are appreciated! :)Anyone have any ideas on converting an old dresser into a home bar?
Depending on the size of the dresser and what the back of it is like here a a couple of ideas:
1) remove the drawers and cut out the separators so that you could use what used to be the front of the dresser as the back of the new bar.
2) add a a larger top to the dresser to add enough overhang for bar stools
3) if the back is unfinished you could add paneling or other decorative wood trim (lots of stuff at home depot/Lowe's)
4) depending on the size of the drawers, maybe you could remove them and use the spaces for something like a wine rack in one and a place for glasses in another.Anyone have any ideas on converting an old dresser into a home bar?
Unless you are a carpenter and knowing what you are doing, forget it - otherwise find a carpenter who can do the job properly!Anyone have any ideas on converting an old dresser into a home bar?
