That depends on the size of the bar you are talking about...full size, wet bar, a cabinet, etc.



Assuming you mean a small one, I'd suggest building something like a bathroom counter (but bigger) with cabinets and space for a fridge with any sort of solid countertop.Being a do it my self gal! How do i make my own quick and simple home bar?
Rather than build it from scratch, search some of those thrift stores, like Goodwill or the Salvation Army and find some sort of cabinet, that can be altered to do what you want, for your bar.

Check out, some store that sells these kinds of home bars, and pick up some ideas from them.

So you will need a good counter top, that can handle spills and will be easy to wipe clean.

Underneath, some storage drawers and maybe some room, for a one of those small refrigerators.

As that needs electrical power,it would help, if the bar, you plan to make, is near an outlet.

Try some web sites, say, Home Depot of Lowes, or some other DIY site, and see if they have plans, available, that can give you more ideas.

Here is what I did which worked and looked great. I went and found a 1940's /50's TV cabinet. The one with a tv on one side with a door to hide the tv,and on the other side a sliding section that helt the turntable. Under that area was a door to put records in. I gutted everything out. Made new bottows for the areas that had holes in them. i wrapped those fake bottoms with royal purple crushed velvet. give me a break it was the 70's hehe.



When finished the tv area was where I stored my bottles, the sliding area was where I stored my glasses and mix tools. and the last area was extra storage. People liked it so much I ended up making 3 more for friends. the hardest part is finding these cabinets. Wish I could find another one.
If your looking for simple then build a bookcase and put liquor bottles in it instead of books.
