What types of alcohol (not brands) should I get to stock my home bar with?vodka, rum, triple sec, whiskey, borbon, brandy, tequlia, gin, shnapps(peach) amaretto, blue curcaco(samething as triple sec but it blue adds some color to the drinks)
Gin, vodka, rum, Scotch, bourbon, a couple of bottles of good red and white wine, tequila, brandy, creme de menthe, creme de cocoa, and a nice selection of after-dinner liqueurs.
With that selection, there aren't too many types of drinks that you couldn't make. What types of alcohol (not brands) should I get to stock my home bar with?

a good bottle of Irish whiskey, a good bottle of single malt scotch, vodka, gin, good south American red wine, good french white wine, some beer and that should be OK
Dont forget some Liqueurs
Also add some Cointreau or Grand Marnier (instead of triple sec). This are needed for top shelf margaritas and also go well in other mixed drinks.
