im getting one today and want to make sure my rats wont escapeCan anyone tell me the space between the bars on a my first home multi level ferret cage?
are these the only pets you're going to have? if so, 1" bars will be fine. Do you have another pet bigger than the rats? if so, 1/2"x1/2". if you find that one cage that you just HAVE to have, you can get it. you'll probably need money or euros or your country's currency (i.e. India= Rupee)
1"Can anyone tell me the space between the bars on a my first home multi level ferret cage?
The spacing is 1". Baby rats and small females might escape, but males and most females will not.
1 inch is too far, my friend has an adult male and has 1 inch space bars and he can get out, the proper spacing so they can't get out is half and inch and make sure the travel across this way --------------- NOT this way Can anyone tell me the space between the bars on a my first home multi level ferret cage?
, and make sure your cage has levels otherwise it isn't a proper cage for rats, and also make sure it has an all flat ground otherwise your rats will get bumble foot

your cage bars should look like this---------------
--------------------------------------…
the gaps shouldn't be further apart than those 2 lines because if they are the full inch then rats can escape
usually they are 1" but it depends. and a ferret cage for rats? have you looked at the size of ferrets and then compare them to rats? WOW!
Allie.
