We want to build an outdoor bar to replace our patio table. Our family of four would like to sit out there for frequent outdoor dining. My question is, when building a bar how much space is allotted, generally speaking, for each person to sit and eat comfortably? 3 feet per person? 2?
How long should a home bar be to seat a family of four?
I'd build it a minimum of 9 feet. This gives you 2 feet per person, plus an extra foot for dishes. You can adjust down if you have young kids, but remember that they will grow. Hope this helps.
A mini mun of 6 ft. depending on how much room you feel each family member needs. Make it at least 3 ft. wide also or more depending on the amount of food served. You may want more room if friends come by or other family members. How long should a home bar be to seat a family of four?
If it will be used for eating you need 30"/person. This applies to any eating sitting arrangement whether its a bar or dining table.
5 ' would be good since the other 2 can sit at the ends as long as it's at least 18" wide. How long should a home bar be to seat a family of four?
2x2 ft. minimum per person, allotted for each person, with room for dishes and utensils,drink.6 ft. long and 4.5 ft.wide for food dishes in middle. This will allow for two people per side.
