I'm building a home bar similar to this one:

with the exception that I want it 6feet(instead of 8) and I want to be able to move it in the event that I move out. I was wondering which material would be better: glass or acrylic? Also consider ease of assembly, cost, aesthetic appeal and durability. Anyone know of any sites where I can buy either one at a cheap rate?
thanks!Need help building a portable home bar. Glass or Acrylic blocks?
You might get 1 out of a thousand responses that is actually competent here; just look through some of the questions %26amp; qanswers and you'll see what I mean. There are a few qualified people that stop by or participate, but it's like finding the proverbial needle in a haystack.
Let me suggest that you visit liveperson.com. It's a site where you get REAL EXPERT ADVICE on everything from the home, DIY to computers, cars, law and medicine, just to name a few. It's more professional and and a far smarter choice then entertaining and weeding through the unqualified answers you'll recieve here.
Wish you well,Need help building a portable home bar. Glass or Acrylic blocks?
I saw the picture of the bar.I recommended glass,
Why, acrylic get scratches easily.and they get yellowish.
Who ever is going build this, make sure they put on 6" lock wheels
so the front and side apron cover the the wheels.
Made sure the door open wide enough for the bar to get through
Any professional cabinetmaker can build this,I don't know about cheap
by looking at the picture, You got money to burn.
good luck mikeNeed help building a portable home bar. Glass or Acrylic blocks?
Acrylic would be much lighter. If you are planning to move it , build it in smaller sections screwed together.sound like a fun project.
