Should bars be required to provide a safe ride home for its customers? Wouldn't it just be good business?

Yes, I know it would be expensive, but so is a lawsuit. And I would think they could get a pretty good contract rate with a cab company.Should bars be required to provide a safe ride home for its customers? Wouldn't it just be good business?
I used to bartend at a high volume night club. All the bartenders would pitch in nightly to our cab fare fund. We would not have to use it that often, but it was there if we needed it. Many of our customers would come back the next day to thank us, and contribute to the cab fare fund
No. They are not your parents!Should bars be required to provide a safe ride home for its customers? Wouldn't it just be good business?
I think it would be nice for cabs to park outside bars. Just in case you decide to drink their is the safe ride home. Also, a bar should have a safe parking lot. Where you know nothing will happen to your car if you are too drunk to drive it. I rather pay $20 for a cab than go to jail and live with the guilt that I killed someone for my own irresponsibility.
No, sorry

The truth is that a bar is a buissness. They serve drinks, they are not a taxi company.

Yes, it would be good buissness; but extremly expensive.

As for the lawsuits, they would get a lot more lawsuits if they made that kind of a law. There are some really big bars out there, so they couldn't watch everybody. Now there will be people that go bar hoping or just deside to leave taking thier own car. When these people get into an accident they would sue the bar saying that they did not recieve a safe ride. Yes, thier are people that blame others for thier mastakes; some even sue.

As it is now I see no reason for any kind of lawsuit, because it is not thier responsibility.Should bars be required to provide a safe ride home for its customers? Wouldn't it just be good business?
I have been to bars that will call certain cab companies for you and you will get a cheaper ride home for using their cab. But ultimately it is your responsibility to get your self home safely. You should be able to go home the same way you got to the bar, by walking, car, bus, or cab. If you need to get that drunk to the point where you can not function enough to drive a vehicle home safely. You should stay home and drink. It will be safer for you and for everyone else.
I think it's an excellent idea. There have been court cases where a DWI/Fatality guy tried to sue the bar for letting him

continue to drink, making him unsafe.

I would prefer a safe ride home to a ride to jail.
Just up the price of alccohol in these places and provide this for the customers.
i dont think it would be the bars responsibity, after all we are responsible for our own action. it would definatly be a bonus though if a bar offered that service i know i would be more prone to go to that bar plus it would be safer
no because they did not tell you to go into the bar and get so sh*** faced that you couldnt drive yourself home or call your own cab and pay for it your self
